1991 Mazda RX-7 Convertible Additional Info:
Up for sale is this nice 1991 Mazda RX7 Convertible that I picked up a while back and with several other cars in the garage never seem to drive it so here is a good opportunity for you to pick up a rare RX7 convertible 5-speed at a NO RESERVE price!
I've had many rotary cars over the years and absolutely love these old RX7s as they are a blast to drive and at this point reasonably priced and reliable.
This one is an excellent driver quality car except for the canvas top which is an atrocity. The canvas is a mess and needs replacement, bad! The good news is that the top frame is fine and the power top works as it should and when the top is down you can't tell how ugly the top is.
The exterior is in very nice shape, the white exterior with a black interior is always a good look. Expect a couple dings and dents that would be expected of a car that is over 25 years old but the paint shines well and the overall appearance of the car is very nice.
The interior is in very nice shape as well, the seats have been completely redone and look new. The rest of the interior is very nice with the exception of the middle dash info center which has cracked trim and the ashtray doesn't want stay shut (common problem).
The passenger side window motor works but you will need to figure out why it only wants to go down about 1/3 of the way.
It has a jack but the spare tire is missing.
Wheels are Zenetti, tires are good for rolling but will need to be replaced. Also please note the tires are fairly wide and the inside of the tires are just barely rubbing on probably the strut/shock body, so if you want this to be driven any distance a set of wheel spacers (maybe 3-5mm) would be receommended.
Engine revs and sounds as a rotary should, she is ready to run! That being said the idle seems high and it has a strange surging when at idle that comes and goes away, once you give it gas that goes away and the car acts fine. But this is minor as the engine sounds great, has excellent power and does NOT smoke!!
Exhaust sounds excellent with no leaks.
A/C worked when I bought it, I checked it today and it seems to be fine though it was only 60 degrees outside so it is hard to judge whether it actually was truly blowing cold.
Overall the car is a great daily driver that you can modify or customize to your taste, it doesn't need anything major so you can enjoy it while you tweak it to your liking. As you already know there is no shortage of parts to modify the RX7 in any way you want.
Clear title ready to go!
Car is located in Savannah, GA and easy to get to as it is located near both Interstate 95 & 16.
