1967 Maserati Quattroporte Series I – Automatic – Factory Power Steering & A/C – Complete Documented History
Offered for sale is an exceptional 1967 Maserati Quattroporte Series I, benefiting from a comprehensiverestoration with total restoration costs exceeding $200,000.
This is a particularly rare and desirable specification, equipped with the automatic transmission, factory power steering, and factory air conditioning. These features make it an unusually comfortable and sophisticated example of Maserati's legendary first-generation four-door grand tourer.
Perhaps even more impressive than the restoration is the car's remarkable documentation and provenance. Its history is known from day one and includes a copy of the original Maserati bill of sale, along with extensive documentation tracing the car's ownership and history from new.
The car originally left the Maserati factory finished in silver. During its restoration, it was refinished in the striking two-tone bright red and black combination shown in the photographs.
The restoration was extensive and included a complete rebuild of the engine, along with the differential, braking system, suspension, and numerous mechanical and cosmetic components. The engine compartment, interior, exterior, and undercarriage were all restored to an exceptionally high standard. The underside of the car presents every bit as impressively as the exterior.
Since completion of the restoration, the Maserati has traveled only a handful of miles.
Sadly, the previous owner passed away shortly after the restoration was completed and never had the opportunity to truly enjoy the finished car. We subsequently purchased the Maserati directly from the owner's estate, and it is now being offered publicly for sale.
Optional Factory ZF Manual Conversion – $10,000We recognize that some enthusiasts may prefer the driving experience of a manual-transmission Quattroporte. For an additional $10,000, we will include a comprehensive factory-style manual conversion package consisting of:
Factory ZF S5-20 5-speed transmission
Correct clutch pedal assembly and operating mechanism
Correct flywheel
New clutch kit
New clutch master cylinder
New clutch slave cylinder
This provides the next owner with the option of retaining the car in its rare automatic configuration or converting it to the desirable ZF 5-speed manual configuration.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a fully restored, highly optioned and exceptionally well-documented Series I Quattroporte with more than $200,000 invested in its restoration and virtually no mileage accumulated since completion. Its combination of documented history, factory power steering, air conditioning, rare automatic transmission, extensive mechanical restoration and striking presentation makes it a particularly compelling example of Maserati's landmark luxury sedan.
