1981 Maserati Merak SS 3.0 US specification with Bora Dashboard Additional Info:

Well preserved example of a very rare Maserati Merak SS. One of only 312 produced and the most desirable version of the Merak being a very original US model with the Bora dashboard. Also the most powerful with the 217HP 3.0 liter V6 engine. Original Black paint. Original brown Connolly leather interior remains in excellent condition. Very low 15,577 original miles. Always stored in climate controlled garage. Never driven in the rain. Entire fuel system drained, new fuel hoses installed, fuel sending unit serviced and gas tanks resealed. Excellent engine compression readings and original Weber 44 DCNF carburetors recently rebuilt. Removed and rebuilt clutch slave cylinder. Removed and cleaned master brake cylinder. Braking and clutch systems bled. New clutch and pressure plate. New battery installed. An excellent running survivor class Merak SS.

BODY AND PAINT - Body is all original. Original black paint confirmed by digital paint meter. Black is a great color for a US spec Merak as the original black bumpers blend in nicely. Original undercarriage is solid with no rust.

INTERIOR - Original brown Connolly leather interior remains in excellent condition.

ENGINE and TRANSMISSION - Original 3.0 liter V6 engine starts easily and accelerates with excellent power. There is nothing quite like the roar of a 3.0 liter Merak SS engine during acceleration. Most recent service included rebuilding and tuning of the original Weber 44 DCNF carburetors, new fuel filter and fuel hoses, new spark plugs, oil (Valvoline Racing Synthetic15W-50) and oil filter change. Fuel tanks were also removed, professionally cleaned and reinstalled and new choke cable was installed. Original five speed transmission shifts excellent. New clutch and pressure plate was installed at 13,818 miles. Clutch master cylinder was rebuilt during most recent service.

ELECTRICALS - All electrical components are currently functional.

BRAKES, WHEELS and TIRES- Brake master cylinder was removed, cleaned and brake system was bled. Emergency brake is adjusted and holds fine. Original 15" Cromodora alloy wheels are installed and in very good condition with their original Cromodora stickers still in place. Tires are correctly sized 205/70R15 in front and 225/70R15 at the rear.

EXTRA PARTS and DOCUMENTATION - The following extra parts are included: Original spare wheel in excellent condition, original jack, brand new ashtray cover, new brass replacement gears for power windows. Documentation includes owners manual, workshop manual, spare parts manual. Service documentation records mileage as 1,556 miles in September of 1990, 13,818 miles in February of 1996. Present mileage is a very low 15,577 miles.

Shipping: Transportation expenses are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Vehicle must be picked up within 10 days from close of the auction, after which a storage fee of $15.00 per day (or partial day) will be charged. We cannot be held liable for any problems or damages arising from or due to transportation handling. The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and fees from point of sale to the final destination. In addition, it is the buyer?s responsibility to arrange & coordinate shipping.
