1969 Lotus Formula Car

The total production of the Type 61 was about 248. This is chassis number 97 and has the Lotus Holbay engine #LH 189. I purchased this Lotus on 18 December 1976 from a guy in Tallahassee, FL. In the almost 50 I owned this car, I never raced it, only auto crossed it 3-4 times. Career took over my free time and it stayed in the back of the garage. When I finally got around to working on the car, I just took my time and got it to the car you see in the pictures. Fun car to drive. I can track ownership 3 owners before me. All Florida guys. Was raced at Miami-Hollywood Speedway, Daytona-Short Course, Lakeland, Atlanta, Charlotte, West Palm, Gainesville and Savannah. I have some notes from when it was raced. I have been using it to keep my other Lotuses company in a climate controlled garage. I have some spare gears for the Hewland Mark VI gearbox, some spare suspension parts and 7 OEM steel wheels. I updated the starter to a gear reduction type and installed a solenoid. Starts easily and runs great. Time for it to have a new home, with someone who will enjoy using it for fun. I reserve the right to cancel this add because it is listed in other publications.
