Today, that may not sound like a supercar power figure, but considering the Esprit tips the scales at just 2,800 lbs, it meant 0-60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and a top speed in excess of 160 mph. This power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. Lotus’s strength has always been its handling and this car is no exception - with minimal modifications, this generation Esprit was competing in the IMSA Bridgestone Supercar Championship and winning against far more powerful Porsche 964 Turbos and Corvettes, thanks to its ability to carry impressive speed all around the track. Over this generation Esprit’s 6 year run, less than 1,700 were produced worldwide making this a truly rare car.
