1965 Lotus Cortina Mk1 Additional Info:
Here is a LoCort with a great history and ready to race. The car was purchased by the current owner in 1980 and is the third owner. After being driven on the street for a couple of years it was made into a race car in 1985. The car has been raced sparingly since at tracks such as Grattan, Waterford, Gingerman, Mid-Ohio, Savannah (Hutchinson Island), and Roebling Road. It has always been professionally maintained, but as you can see in the pictures kept in period authentic trim.
The race set up was done by Indy and IMSA star Pete Halsmer, who shared the car numerous times in vintage enduros. The car is very neutral and easy to drive fast! The engine rebuilds were done by George Bachman in Toledo, Ohio. While not a fresh rebuild, the car is ready to race with an annual tech done in 2017 by HSR, and a VSCDA certificate of originality. It is believed to be the original engine block as the car has never had a major engine failure. It is fitted with a close ratio gearbox, accusump, and is supplied with extra wheels and a small spares package.
