Here's the story of this rare bird - an all-original 1977 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe with 91,958 miles, 7.5L 460 V8, and FACTORY POWER GLASS ROOF!I purchased this wonderful car in October 2022, successfully transferring ownership to the current Pennsylvania title in my name (formerly a South Carolina title from 1977-2022) with the intention of restoring it, but I no longer have the time to get it going and would like to sell. It originally came from a family estate sale in South Carolina and currently does not run. As you can see in the pictures, its last state inspection sticker expired in 1991 - the last time the previous owner drove it before he passed. It sat untouched in his barn for many years. The surviving family could never locate the keys and resorted to breaking the ignition lock in order to shift the car into neutral allowing it to be towed away. Upon purchase, I was told the car ran excellent before it was long neglected, though I was never able to verify that for myself. This vehicle is complete and ideal for someone looking for a restoration project or donor car for parts. It contains the original 7.5L 460 V8 engine, C6 transmission (proper oil levels can be seen on the dipstick pictures shown, respectively), 9 inch rear, . , power vent windows, and all of the original glass. Exterior is rough. Interior is also very dirty/moldy from occasional rainwater intrusion and sun damage, but it's all there, bumper to bumper. It even has the original premium factory turbine wheels with newer wide whitewall tires. The odometer reads 91,658 miles. Just to give you an idea of value, I was offered $1,500.00 for the glass roof assembly alone, $1,500.00 for the engine assembly, $1,000.00 for the C6 transmission, at least $1,000.00 for the chrome bumpers, over $1,000.00 for nearly every piece of original glass (not including the glass roof), $500.00 for the upper/lower grille/hood ornament, and that's just scratching the surface. I've had even more offers for the doors, emblems, exterior light lenses, mirrors, headlight covers, trim pieces, other body panels, catalytic converters, and more...BUT...I will not be parting out the vehicle. Please don't ask. No exceptions will be made. I will only sell it as a complete unit, as these are highly desirable cars to a special group of classic Lincoln collectors. The late 1970s Continentals were some of the most distinctive, largest, most luxurious American cruisers that ever came into existence. I want to make sure it is sold to someone who has the time and resources to either 1.) restore it to its former roadworthy beauty or 2.) thoughtfully and methodically disassemble it as a donor vehicle, distributing its parts to those in the collector/restoration community that are in desperate need of solid, OEM factory equipment.Thank you for looking, and good luck!.
