This beautiful example of a 1948 Continental cabriolet was painstakingly rebuilt by a man who's family I'm helping settle his estate. His name was Charlie Joyce. He was well known, beloved and respected in his community. (If you win this auction, you will deal with his daughter upon settlement). I have always admired it for many years as he frequently and proudly drove it to many shows here in the North Jersey area, most notably, Lead East. There's no disputing how magnificently styled these early Continentals are, yet, as you car buffs know, the V-12 powertrain suffered a terrible reputation to the point of alienating those who wished to drive and own one of these impressive classics. On this car, no such concerns apply, it is in maintained, turn-key condition ready to be enjoyed right now!

Instead of an exotic engine conversion, this Lincoln cabriolet has been retrofitted with a simple, smooth running yet rock solid and very powerful Chevrolet crate motor, brand new with less than 2000 miles. The transmission is a blueprinted TH 350 automatic. The front end is of Mustang 2 design with power steering and power brakes all beautifully fit and working together like a factory designed and built automobile. The benefits of such a common set up, will give the owner peace of mind for countless enjoyable miles well into the future.

I have personally inspected, driven and photographed this lovely convertible. I could find NO RUST on it anywhere. The chrome is spectacular and the impressive convertible looks as good in the photos as it does in person. I would rate it as a very nice driver as it does show some typical wear due to use. The big convertible top is missing the hydraulic pistons, therefore, has to be manually operated.

In addition, there are many original 1948 Lincoln spare parts that came from this car including the original V-12 engine. They are stored in Ohio and will be made available to the new owner. I have many additional pictures available plus videos of the car in operation including electrical systems and a test drive. Please call Gup with any questions between 9AM-9PM Eastern time at 973-366-5853 you may also find more information on me by typing: The Golden Gup. Thank you!
