1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Restomod Additional Info:
Take some time to look over this 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Restomod. Because while the exterior is a classic post-war ride, the interior, chassis, and fuel-injected V8 are all expertly integrated from a late model Town Car. So this is your opportunity at a true custom build that has all the style and luxury you demand.
For a few short years both before and after WWII, Lincolns had a very distinct style. The headlights were sunken into the fenders; the profile was sleek like a chopped-top hot rod; and the sheetmetal had amazing curves that flowed right into the door line. It really did look like a custom car right from the factory, and so it's an ideal place to start for a full custom build. Up front this one announces its something special with the addition of a Mercury grille. They smoothed the body by expertly eliminating much of the trim. Plus, it truly takes on a modern flair with red paint borrowed from Mazda's palette. And those modern 17-inch alloys say Lincoln, but they also hint at the donor car that's within the classic sheetmetal.
The moment you open the door, this '49 Lincoln fast forwards about six decades ahead. They have expertly integrated the full interior from the final generation Town Car. And we truly mean expertly integrated. So not only do you get two rows of plush leather seats, but also the front ones power adjust using the controls on the door panels! There are a ton of more great modern features, like power windows, power locks, cruise control, an AM/FM/cassette/CD stereo, and automatic climate control featuring R134a air conditioning. Even the exterior keypad code (a feature we love on brand new Fords today) has been retained. It feels great to get behind the modern Lincoln steering wheel mounted on a tilt column and gaze at the full modern gauge panel. It makes this classic a true comfortable driver.
Under the hood is another terrific integration from the Town Car. Lincoln/Ford's 4.6-liter modular V8 is a superb modern fuel-injected powerhouse. It has been built for stout construction to serve everywhere from the Mustang to the F-150. But in the Lincoln, they also made sure to tune it for smoothness. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll see that the chassis has been upgraded, too. Including the modern independent front end, coil springs all-around, and sway bars front & rear. Plus, four-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, and a four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive deliver a classic that's as easy as a modern cruiser.
The sale comes complete with restoration photos so that you can take others on this car's transformation journey. Rarely does something this unique leave its creator's hands, so you know you don't want to miss this one-of-a-kind. Call now!
