1947 Lincoln Continental -- Additional Info:
Huber Automotive is pleased to present this 1947 Lincoln Continental. This vehicle has been in the Huber family for decades. Sonny Huber purchased this car roughly 30 years ago. When Sonny purchased the car, it had a V-8 under the hood which he promptly swapped for the a proper 292 cubic inch, flathead V-12. While this V-12 isn't original to this car, it is the period correct motor that all Continentals left the factory with in 1947. The 4.8L motor produced 125hp and 220 ft-lbs of torque when it was new. This car has spent the majority of its life in storage. Recently our service department took the time to get it running again, and now it starts easy and drives out well. The three on a tree manual transmission shifts well and the clutch grabs strong. Mechanically the car is solid. The top layer of paint shows extensive flaking from a power washer and reveals a second, black finish below. The interior is original leather as far as we know, and the carpets are original as well, though both show age. The push button doors operate smoothly, while the doors themselves open and close easily. Underneath the car shows some age, but overall is solid and safe. The hardware of the manually operating top is functional, but the cloth top needs replaced. The windows were originally power operable, but the motors are worn out/seized. If you're searching for a project car or just want a classic that can be driven, this Lincoln Continental could be the perfect one for you. Call us today for more details. Huber Automotive, since 1959.
