1964 Lincoln Continental Convertible Additional Info:
I am selling my 1964 Lincoln Continental Convertible to put the money towards an RV for family. This is my daily driver in AZ until the weather gets too hot. This vehicle was completely gone through by John Cashman when I first got the car 4 years ago (New Window Switches, Convertible top motor and Cashman Top Treatment, trunk lid signed by John). At the end of the driving season, before storing it for the summer, it was serviced by AZ Lincoln Guru Troy Westerman with Borne Customs (Tore down motor for reseal, cleaned all parts, removed old gasket material, radiator flushed and painted, pressure tested and painted expansion tank, new low temp thermostat, New hoses, sand blasted and painted motor parts and motor Ford Blue, Convertible top Alignment, New Battery, Rebuilt Gear Box, Converted to R-134 AC, New A/C Fittings and Gaskets, New Bendix Continental Steering Box, $5608.00)
This is an original survivor with what looks to be one spray over. It by no means restored, it has its scratches and dings and orange peel, but overall a very presentable car. You could do chrome, paint/body and new seals and this is a 85K car. This car is a 15 footer. Everyone asks me all the time "When was it restored". It has a like new white top, newer carpet kit and seat kit that is in great condition. Dash is all in excellent condition. No cracks in original dash vinyl. I had a Bluetooth stereo custom built into the glovebox with a custom fiberglass insert and replaced the two factory speakers with Boston Acoustics. I like this type of classic because you can drive it and not worry about someone ruining a new paint job. As I said, my daily driver in the winter. Drives straight as an arrow down the highway with no hands on the wheel. Tires are 90% tread Michelin tires(I'm not a white wall fan, but an easy fix if you are). Like riding a couch down the highway! In my opinion 64' is the best year as it has the extra leg room in the back, best dash and best front end.
This car has very minimal rust. None on the undercarriage, trunk floor or under the doors. There is some behind the rear doors as pictured and a manageable amount under the trunk lid and hood. John Cashman said rust under the hood and trunk lid is standard issue on these cars and is "Very Minimal" on this car compared to 90% of the vehicles he see's. Everything works except the original stereo(left in place for looks when modern stereo installed in Glove Box), Antenna, and clock. The AC turns on with a toggle switch under the dash and works great. I also installed a wireless remote convertible top mechanism to put the top up and down. Included is the Lincoln Shop Manual, Original Owners Manual and a Spare Parts Bag that has all the essentials John Cashman said I needed to have on hand.
