Up for sale is a one-of-a-kind MAGICAL 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V

Get the respect you deserve in this super fly smooth-running sled.This is a red convertible/white top with electric leather seats, Cartier clock, and eight track stereo along with the obvious exterior features.I have enjoyed this car for about 3-4 years and ready to pass it along to another owner.Listed below are some of your possible questions:

Why did you buy it?

I originally bought this car to use in parades to advertise my business. It worked wonderfully with everyone wanting me to drive their beauty queen or a political candidate in regional parades.Obviously, this was the most memorable vehicle in the convoy.I attached magnetic signs to this car which advertised my business and had a captive audience unlike most advertising.

Why do you want to sell it?

I am almost 50 years old and have been happily married for 26 + years.I can’t continue to test my marriage with all the young ladies would want to cruise around in this cool land yacht.I am (kinda) kidding, but I really need the room in my garage. I have enjoyed this hooptie, and I’m ready to pass it along to someone else.

What upgrades have you made since purchasing?

I added the easily detachable horns, the custom wheels and tires, added a “cow mooing” horn, and about $ 350 worth of mechanic work.When I purchased this car, I took it to my mechanic and told him to fix anything wrong with it.He did and it cost about $ 350.I searched the world over (through the internet) to find the perfect horns and had them attached by a local body shop.They are easily detached and their mounting stand actually attaches to the frame UNDER the hood so no blemishes on the hood’s exterior.

What would you do if you kept it?

I would install a new muffler and spend about $ 2500-3000 on the interior.The interior is fine for parades, but some new white leather seat covers would really make this car pop!I would also give it a new paint job in the next few years.Mechanically speaking, it’s fine.

Does the top work well?

This car has a white cloth top with hydraulic lift.When I purchased this car, I raised and lowered the top once.My mechanic checked it out, but his words were “Don’t raise and lower this top anymore than you have to.It’s an old car and just keep it down if you can.”I’ve used this man for many years and trust him completely.Therefore, I have never raised the top in the past 3 +/- years.It has been garage-kept and only ridden on days when I trusted the weatherman.I keep a high-end cover in the trunk and would use it if needed.Simply stated, I would pass along the same advice to the new owner.

Why is this car “MAGICAL”?

My wife and kids call this car “the smile maker”.So many people smile and give a thumbs up when I go on my monthly ride around to keep everything lubed and running smoothly.You truly do create a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dismal world.

I think this is an excellent business opportunity for someone in Savannah.Several years ago, my family and I visited Los Angeles and went on a tour around LA/Hollywood in a late 60’s model Cadillac convertible.This excursion costs around $ 400 and the owner told me he schedules about three tours per day.This had to be booked months in advance because this man stayed incredibly busy.On that day, I got the itch to own a car like this.I think a similar business could be very successful in a town like Savannah, Miami, New Orleans, San Diego, etc.....This would be the perfect vehicle for a start-up business, or a small business owner like myself could use it to advertise in local/regional parades also.
