1979 Lincoln Mark Series Collector’s Series Additional Info:
Rare, one of 304 white with white leather Comfort Lounge seats. These cars were fully equipped and listed for $21,326 new. In addition to the white leather other options are the moonroof and CB radio.
I purchased this car two years ago from the widow of an avid Lincoln Mercury collector in Idaho and had it shipped to Atlanta. It was used as his daily driver beginning in 1991.
I have replaced the battery, alternator, starter, starter solenoid, ignition module, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, accelerator pump diaphragm, steering coupling, radiator hoses, heater hose, and power steering return hose.
At 128,000 miles, this car is a great driver; with the 400 V8, it will cruise comfortably at highway speeds. The AC, cruise, power windows, seats (with driver’s lumbar), distance to empty computer, and power trunk release work as designed.
The car was repainted some time ago. It shows normal minor wear inside and out but is still extremely presentable. Owing to its Pacific Northwest heritage, it’s a rust-free, nicely sorted, reliable driver in 3+ condition that can be enjoyed as-is.
Rare items included are the tool kit and leather pouch, owner’s manual with leather jacket and Cross pen, correct gold keys and key chain, accessory gold ignition key and key chain, build sheet, factory garage door opener, new car brochures, Ford demo 8-track, and a full set of Ford Service Manuals as well as many spare parts.
