1957 Lincoln Continental Additional Info:
This is a neat project car...its a 1957 Continental Mark II...one of 444 made in 1957...and how many with factory ac and this original....and can be had this cheap? NO RESERVE! It was parked in 1978 and was originally sold in Palm Springs. It has been in Southern California its whole life. According to internet research the original paint color of this car might have been a 1957 only color..a friend said they only made about 62 this color and 30 with this exterior/interior combo. Optioned with factory air conditioning, bumper guards, power locking differential and DSO special paint. Mileage of 109,208 is believed original. There is an old oil change sticker in the door jamb with 98k on it...and the sticker itself was printed in 1966.
Its a good solid, dry car...but at some point in its life it had a vinyl top. That caused a little surface rust on the roof with some pitting in the metal in a couple spots..and a couple of rust through spots where the roof meets the quarter panel..both sides have it. That being said..floors and trunk floor are super nice..door corners...not very much rust at all on this car even by Socal standards. One repaint over the original paint. Very complete car..missing one of the letters from the hood and the speaker grill was modified and I believe its missing...its the grill right above the heater controls. Rear side windows are just down in the picture. Interior door panels and side panels have been removed and are stacked on the back seat. Upholstery for being original isnt ripped to shreds...it needs a complete interior restoration. Looks like there was old body work on the passenger side front fender where you see the primer mark. Overall nice body..needs full restoration of course. Engine is out and apart, but looks complete ...mocked together in the picture...looks like it had never been out. Transmission is out too. Engine and trans will need rebuilding of course. All hubcaps are here..but two will need more restoration than the other two. All in all a very complete car.but since I didnt take it apart, figure on having to find some things. If you have any specific things you want to make sure are here...email me. Last picture shows another Mark II in I believe this cars paint color...beautiful wasnt it? Great car for a restomod...or original restoration.
