1977 Lincoln Continental Additional Info:
Up for sale is a beautiful 1977 Lincoln Mark V with 27K original miles. This vehicle is owned by a long time senior friend of mine. He has asked me to help him sell it. The car, I believe, is a one owner vehicle. Purchased new in Southern California, it made it's way to Oxnard, CA where my friend purchased it at an Estate sale. He has had this vehicle in his collection for several years now. It has been stored indoors 100% of the time during his ownership. It looks to have always been stored indoors, really. Here is a list of some of the work that my friend has had completed on the car since his purchase:
1. Brand new half top (using rare OEM fabric) in silver2. Some paint touch ups here and there (professionally done)3. New white wall tires4. Full chassis service including: A. Oil and filter change B. Transmission Service C. Full chassis lube D. Recent carb. rebuild E. New valve cover gaskets F. Full tune-up (cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs) G. Complete Air conditioner rebuild incl. New comp., POA conversion, dryer, seals, etc. to R134A H. New oil pressure switch I. Selected heater hoses as needed J. New belts K. New air filter L. New master cylinder M. Full chassis lube/grease5. Power antenna restored/repaired6. New shocks (4) I am sure there is more that has been done over the years he has owned it.
I have personally inspected and driven this car and I can honestly say that they do not make cars like this anymore. Runs and drives great.. very smooth and quiet, great power, rattle-free, etc.. what can one say, it's a Mark V, the pinnacle of Lincoln style. In my inspection, I found that wear on the car is consistent with 27K original miles both mechanically and cosmetically. Mostly original paint and standing up well for 40 years, the car is covered always, even though it is stored inside. The exterior chrome, accessories, and aluminum trim are clean, straight and shiny. No cloudy, dull aluminum trim from sitting outside on this car. The interior is original. It has some small aging as to be expected, but overall, very nice and shows very little use or wear. The chassis is ultra clean and original, indicating very low miles. I believe all power options and lighting are working properly, with exception of the radio, which works as it cares too for some reason?? Overall, a very original vehicle with minor aging here and there (I.E. small chips or scratches, etc...), but shows consistent pride of ownership and great care over the last 40 years. While not a perfect car, this car is an outstanding example of one of Lincoln's finest works or art. Definitely collector quality and just a joy to drive. And yes, it draws admires wherever you take it.
*Note* : This vehicle has never been professionally detailed since my friend's ownership. It has been washed properly, covered, and garaged. What you see is the way it has been kept since new.
Please ask any and all questions. If I do not know the answer, I will either ask my friend or forward you to him for the answer. Registration is about a year out. Clean title in hand. Reserve has been set for absolute sale. Vehicle is 40 years old and original. Please understand what you are purchasing. Vehicle is sold as-is, where-is with no expressed or implied warranties. No refunds.
Thank you
