1966 Lincoln Continental Additional Info:
Absolutely stunning '66 continental for sale. Fly in and enjoy driving her home to just about anywhere. This is of my personal collection, I am an avid motorcycle and auto collector and enthusiast who occasionally practices law to fund my addiction. When looking for a classic or collectible vehicle to buy for myself I consider 5 things; collectability, rarity, meanness/power, paint, and interior. My thoughts on this particular car: Collectability: Perhaps one of the most collectible cars due to the suicide doors. Admittedly the 4 door convertible is bringing more money, but this is still really cool; Rarity: Although not as rare as the convertible, the '66 is a special year due to the bigger motor, thermometer speedo, and a few other styling cues; Meanness/power: This motor and drivetrain have tons of highway power, but little muscle torque or growl. The exhaust, although newly updated, is rather stock and quite demure; Paint: Great paint condition. Not show quality but it will win you some shows. The paint is from a 1972 Dodge dart so it's not something you'll see anywhere else. Chrome and brightwork is excellent; Interior: All original and darn near perfect for being 50 years old. Clock just stopped working but all other interior lighting and features operable (except see below). All in all this is an amazing car. I have driven it on 4 plus hour trips several times. Thousands of dollars of updates/upkeep in last few years I've owned. Brand new Coker 3.5" whitewalls, new brakes, plugs, oil change, air conditioner (deflector now stuck on defog for some reason). Power windows and locks work. Cruise control was disconnected immediately by original owner because apparently he thought it was a dangerous option. I purchased this from the relative of original owner, in Scottdale, Arizona. Car originally purchased in Wisconsin and driven to Arizona. I have voluminous receipts, the original paperwork and owner's manual, as well as considerable amount of original parts that were removed when updating. Car drives smooth and powerful down the road, although above 85 mph it's developing a bit of a shimy, I'll have it looked at. Has a few paint issues and the one area behind passenger wheelwell with some bubbling (see pictures). Original radio and POWER ANTENNA work! Do not purchase this car if you do not want attention. Absolute head turner and conversation starter, every. time. I'm here to answer any questions and I have and can take additional videos of it driving or whatever you may need. I am selling to make room for another project coming soon. Please look at my feedback, 100% and I plan to keep it that way, if you have anything to ask just shoot me a message or give me a call.
