1958 Lincoln Mark Series Additional Info:
This is anincredibleopportunityto own what is possibly the most highlyoptionedMK III inexistence. This car came from the factory with dual zone (front and rear) air conditioning. This is NOT an under dash unit, but factory installed which was primarily reserved for closed Lincoln's. The vast majority of convertibles built in 1958 had dealer installed airconditioners that ventedfrom under the dash only. This is truly a land mark car with factory air and many other very rare options. Clearly the original owner had very specific requirements.
Overall, the car is a really clean survivor. It has an excellent quality repaint and very nice chrome and trim. The vinyl top is also in excellent condition.
All of the glass is original and good. The door and panel fit is even and consistent all around. The car has never been rusty and never been in an accident. The floors are perfect originals and the rockers and quarter panels are laser straight. The doors open and shut easily.
inside the car is theoriginalleather interior. It shows very mild wear but is in very good condition and is still soft. Theinstrumentsand controls are all original and work well. The steering wheel and dash have just been restored (actually after these pictures were taken) and the carpeting is nearly new. The door panels are nice and top mechanisms are all clean and functional.
The trunk has the original style liner with spare and cover. The floor is mint condition.
The engine has just been detailed with the engine out of the bay. While out, I commissioned a full engine rebuild which will be complete in a mater of days.
The car comes with an incredible option list from thefactory. This includes:
Dual zone (front and rear) air conditioningPower front vent windowsPower windowsRemote factory trunk releasePower seatTown and Country radioRemote outside mirrorPower windowsPower antenna
The car is best described as a high level driver. It is not quite concours condition but needs nothing to be enjoyed for years to come.
Since I've had the car, I've done the following:
Full top system rebuild including allhydraulicsand mechanical parts. The top works perfectly and has the original boots.Window motors rebuild. All windows work perfectly.Engine rebuild (currently being finished...engine shots are from BEFORE the detail)Inspection and repair of all electricalsystems.Full brakes.
I will provide for the winning buyer receipts totaling approximately $20,000 documenting these things.
The history of the car is pretty well known A very respected collector bought the car in 1990 from its first owner. He carefully preserved and stored the car and the result is a virtually rust free car from new. He was in his mid 80's when it came time to sell hiscollectionand this (and three other nice Lincoln's) were sold. The car has copies of his registrations formtheearly '90's as well as a current title and bill of sale.
It is not too difficult to find a Lincoln MK III Convertible for sale. Just over 3000 were built and they were very often pampered. Finding one with factory air conditioning is another matteraltogether. This one has all of the components and is a beautiful car needing nothing.
