1988 Land Rover Range Rover 2-Door Classic turbo diesel all manual Coupe Additional Info:
Please read entire ad before bidding. By bidding, you agree to terms in ad, specifically, $1000 due at end of auction by paypal, and balance of purchase price when truck arrives here in Savannah, and title has been paid for by me, estimated to be about July 25th. Balance of payment to be made by any other certified payment method (wire transfer, cash in person, check to clear before truck leaves here, bank deposit) - This Range Rover is for sale locally too - I reserve the right to end this auction at any time if I receive a reasonable offer and deposit. If you want to purchase this truck you will need to call me at 912-414-8993 to discuss. If you do not call, but bid and win, remember you are BIDDING TO BUY, not to come and inspect after the auction.
This is how I sell most all of my vehicles from overseas - If you are uncomfortable with the process, you do not have to participate in this auction ~ If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me to discuss.
I reserve the right to end this auction at any time, and sell to any interested and able buyer - even if I have bids on this auction. I can end this auction and cancel bids, so if you want to buy this truck, be sure to call me and not just wait to see what happens at the end of the auction, my auctions usually end long before their scheduled ending time.
I have for sale here a 1988 Range Rover 2-door that came out of Spain, so has absolutely zero rust. I bought this Classic with the intention of making it my 'keeper' for a year or two, but I just found a very cool FMC (diesel!) motorhome I am buying instead to use this summer, and have to sell a few of my personal vehicles to make this happen. I did not have time to become attached to this Range Rover yet, so I am sacrificing it to give myself some more financial slack this Summer.
This truck has the VM turbo diesel engine, plenty of power, (Feels faster than the 200Tdi or 300Tdi ... more 'car like' as it revs higher. This engine is used as original equipment in many vehicles in Europe including the Alfa Romeo 164, Rover SD1, Range Rovers, Toyota Landcruiser diesels, and much more) mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and LT230 transfer case with center locking differential. Truck starts, runs and drives great! If truck does not sell by the start of August, I may use it to drive cross-country to a wedding I am attending in Portland, OR - Door delivery could be arranged for you, possibly, if you are along the way. You must call me to discuss this possibility though. I get a lot of requests for these 2-Door Range Rovers, here is your opportunity to buy one from a trusted source.
This truck is extra special for being an 'all manual options' truck - it has wind-up windows, manual seats, about the only luxury here (other than the vintage/ classic look of the truck) is Air Conditioning. Which is nice.
2-Door Range Rover Classics are probably the most interesting and unusual of the Land Rovers, but Defender 90 and 110s get all the attention. This truck is nimble with its short wheelbase, gets great fuel economy (25-30 MPG a reality, it is super-reliable (and yes, you can get parts for this engine easily online - everything is available) and great off road. I also believe these trucks will become the most collectible of the early Land Rovers very soon, they are already selling for crazy money in Europe when restored.
This truck benefits also from living in a dry climate its entire life, so you will not find any of the rust that usually plagues them.
Has cloth 'Vogue' interior. Dash is nice, has carpet side curtains still in the rear luggage compartment. It is being sold on the non - OEM aluminum rims pictured here, but would look great with a set of Rostyles (Which I may have available for the buyer - contact me) and vertical steel grille.
In short, if you have been looking for a reasonably priced 2-door early Range Rover that you can drive every day, and you do not like rust - Here is a great truck for you. It will be here in just over 2 weeks, and a $1000 deposit will secure it for you until then. Full price includes all paperwork and title.
CALL ME at 912-414-8993 with any questions, and visit zombiemotors.net for more information and photos of this truck, and be sure to check my other auctions for more cool trucks, Land Rover Tdi diesel engine conversion kits (prefer a different engine in this Rangie for some reason..? I can do this for you)
Thank you for reading all of this. If you win the auctio, $1000 is due immediately by paypal. I will be gone from about August 15th - 26t, but may be able to deliver for you during that time, and can help with arranging transportation for you regardless. Please check my feedback and see I sell a lot of vehicles and expensive engine kits with positive feedback.
IF you prefer 4 doors, please check my other auctions for my Discovery 1 Turbo Diesel Tdi conversio, and if you are looking for something a little different, also check out my VW Transporter, I have both a single-cab and a Doka for sale in my other auctions as well. Please call for more info...
