1976 Land Rover Forward Control 101

I am selling our beloved Land Rover Forward Control 101. It’s spent much of its life as a brush truck at the local fire department, which explains the red paint! I have owned it for several years now and have sorted many of the issues it had, including engine related improvements (electronic ignition, fuel pump) so not it runs great. It has an Edelbrock carb and intake, mated to the original 3.5l V8. Listen to the smooth idle in the video. It has the original 4-speed transmission, cruises at 50 mph nicely (speedo is in Km Per Hour). It has many new parts including a canvas soft top, water pump, alternator, belts, exhaust, triple fuel/water can holder, rear bumperettes, tow hitch and more. The seats are brand new Exmoor and comfy with retracting seat belts. The silver frame you see on the sides and windshield are all galvanized and original. I stripped the red (and then green) paint to reveal the galvanization. Tons of OEM and recreation parts can be found at 101parts.co.uk. Starts right up, drives great, considering it’s on 35” Super Swampers ($600 each). The drum brakes could use some adjustment, but I have not done that because I have the disc brake conversion kit from Zeus (included, cost $3,000), though not installed. The center diff lock system needs to be troubleshot. I am confident that all that is needed is for the vacuum assist lines to be replaced, but all the other parts are still in place . . . or you can convert to a manual activation system. 1 of 2,669 made.
