1951 Land Rover Series 1 NAS
Yes this truck is an extremely rare North American Spec (NAS). An older restoration done approximately 25 years ago. I acquired this with the intent to re-restore it to original perfect with genuine Land Rover parts which I have sourced from the UK over the last 9 years.I planned to do this with my father who passed this year which extinguished the passion for the project and because of this as well as other life changes I just don’t have the time to do so now.
It does have a title which comes with it but the sale will be bill of sale only. Further, I am selling the truck “as is” as it has not been moved or started in 9 years since it was driven off a transport into a warehouse. The carburetor needed work than as it was loading up. I finally secured a master carb kit from the UK that is included with the rest of the parts. There are fluid leaks typical of course with a rover. Miles are of course unknown
This is an incredible and very rare truck and candidate for a re-restoration which, done right, resulting in the buyer owning a very valuable asset.
Parts are just too numerous to list completely. But I will touch the highlights.Being a perfectionist, the steering wheel being new and with new buttons and controls was very important to me. I bought an original used one and sent it to craftsman in the UK where it was completely restored inclusive of the bakelite being restored using the original oven fired method of the past. The horn button and light control etc for it are new in package.New in box Original SU Fuel pump, new galvanized front bumper not on the truck currently. Most all Gaskets, seals, bearings and multiple kits for the engine and transmission.I like the seats in it which are UK mil spec they are in excellent condition as is the original top but I did secure a Connolly green set as well as a brand new top all of which are in the box and come with the truck. Some interior restoration parts like shift knobs etc. New hoses, clamps, bolts hardware, vintage period right wiring in multiple color rolls. Again, allot of parts too numerous to list. The under seat tire kit/jack are excellent. There a set of rubber mats new in package. Genuine factory OEM vintage parts catalog and workshop manuals. The entity specializing in series rovers in the UK included with the engine build kit and seals etc a color sample to match for the exact factory engine color.I secured many of the metal plates and badges to “make new” from a UK entity that was making them to OEM spec years ago as well all of which accompanies the truck. I intended to send the gauges off for complete restoration and had a new dash plate I secure from England painted to perfectly match when reassembled. It is in the box with the truck as well. So this said, there may be some small items you may need to source but not much. My next move was pulling the entire drivetrain and sending it to a specialty shop in England to rebuild but found an entity in the US thus why I secured many of the parts and brought here stateside.I’m sure I will get many questions asking what I am seeking in the sale of the unit. I simply wish to recover my vested costs and a reasonable return on investment. The vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to sell it if a local offer comes before reserve is met here.
