1981 Land Rover Series III Additional Info:

Solid 1981 Land Rover Series III 3dr wagon. This is a sturdy unrestored 109 V8 that I have owned since 2010. Except for maintenance items, it is mostly unchanged from stock. It started its life as a UK Telecom vehicle and was brought to AZ sometime around 2009-2010 from what I understand. It has been on private property in a family winery in Northern California pretty much since, until driven to my home in the peninsula two years ago. It was last driven then and it has been parked in my driveway since.I had envisioned in turning it into an overlander since it has tons of room in back, but health issues, early unplanned retirement from Active-duty and two small kids make that unattainable unfortunately. Thus, I have decided to find it a new home with another LR enthusiast. This Series III is a long wheelbase 109 station wagon body, 3dr model with the factory R95 Four speed heavy-duty transmission, Salisbury rear with heavy duty springs and the desirable factory 3.5L V8 engine with dual carbs. The running gear is mechanically sound but the carbs run rough. I had them redone twice by a small local shop, but they couldn't get them running right. Thus, I would advise a carbs rebuild or switching to an Edelbrock intake with a Holley 600, and PERTRONIX ignition to do away with setting points.Fuel tank was a brand-new replacement, but will need to be drained as gas is likely flat already. Also has a new fuel pump and filter.I had a TRW heavy-duty clutch installed in 2019 before I deployed to Africa. In the last two years, I had a brake master cylinder also replaced, all new tires ( less than 200 miles on them) and a few ancillary items. In addition, I had the original steel wheels refinished, as well as the complete roof repainted as pictured. The body is super solid, with solid chassis, floorboards, cargo area and doors. Driver's door has corrosion from the inside and will eventually need replacement. All glass is good. Lenses/ markers all replaced. Cargo area is empty.Clear AZ title. This Series III has tremendous potential and would make a fun mild restoration, or drive it as it is with some due maintenance and a little elbow grease.I am a lifelong CA resident, and 28-year Armed forces veteran. I conduct myself professionally and with seriousness. I do not waste people's time, and would tremendously appreciate the same in return.I will be glad to make arrangements for transport anywhere nationwide or overseas, at the most economic shipping rate available. You pay the transporter directly upon delivery.I would like payment to be made via bank wire transfer as it expedites the delivery process exponentially. Checks may be used as well but funds will need to be verified prior to any delivery/ transportation arrangements made.Upon receipt of certified funds, I will overnight the title and a bill of sale to the purchaser, while transportation arrangements are being made.Feel free to contact me directly with any questions if you prefer at *650-430-4660 NLT 2100 PST, please.Thank you for your interest !
