1988 Land Rover Defender 90 Pickup Additional Info:

Vehicle Original VIN : SALLDVAB7EA338696
Distinct, intimidating, and genuinely rugged, this diesel-powered 1988 Land Rover Defender 90 pickup is the ideal 4x4 to let you make your own path through this world.

This one has a very cool style that will get recognized on and off-road. After all, we were offered the Defender 90 for a few years in the USA, but we never got this cool pickup truck style. So you're likely to be the only one to have this style that gives you a handy open bed. There's a ruggedness to this that seems quite fun with the military-style matte green. It's not at all fancy, and we like that because it's part of an overall style of a truck that is always seeking its next adventure. But this darkness also shows some thoughtful touches, like the soft tonneau cover for the best and awesome-looking upgraded wheels.

Since this is a special import, it's nice to have the steering wheel on the right-hand side for added distinction. Just like the exterior, the interior has been given the right investment to be nicer without ever being accused of getting Range Rover fancy. There's newer upholstery on the well-bolstered bucket seats, a cup holder center-console in-between, and the radio has been upgraded to an AM/FM unit with USB input/charger. And we especially love the design of the roof. It shows off the unique body style while giving you cool features like the sliding rear glass and wraparound rear side windows.

The big reason to import a Defender is under the hood. We all know diesel provides the best torque to get you through Mother Nature, and we were never offered them in the USA. So it's great to see a 2.5-liter fuel-injected turbodiesel under the hood. This powerplant has earned a tough-as-nails reputation from the Scottish Highlands to Gibraltar, and because this has been a long-standing British motor, the parts are also widely available. The five-speed manual transmission is a smooth shifter that gives you full control over the diesel power. Plus, the high ground clearance, the two-speed 4x4 transfer case, and Toyo Open Country tires assure that you can keep going even when the trail ends. But there's more to this Defender. The power steering, power brakes, and front discs remind you that go-anywhere also means having some everyday easy appeal.

The sale comes complete with a nice maintenance record file (it even helps us believe the odometer reflects the full mileage.) The Defender platform is part of one of the grandest traditions in 4x4s. So you get to look stylishly different AND have added ability on this independently imported pickup. Call today!!!
