1987 Land Rover Defender Additional Info:

1987 Land Rover Defender 110 RHD for sale by private seller. Clean title, truck located in South Florida.
The 1987s are one of the earliest 110s equipped with the "Diesel Turbo," a slightly turbocharged version of the 2.5 liter diesel. The truck is white with a black carbon fiber hood and roof. It is a right hand drive RHD vehicle, something that is sure to get lots of smiles. She has some new tires on her as well and has been loved and even given a name, "Sheila."
The odometer is just over 85,000 miles and has the original engine in it. The engine is most reliable aspect of this truck. The last mechanic to check it out was rather impressed by the condition and the fact that it always seems to start right up. These engines also get about 30 mpg, so you can tell your Prius friends to beat it.
I've had the below areas professionally repaired over the years:
  • Fuel line repair
  • Radiator replaced
  • Steering Pitman Arm replaced
  • New Fuel Tank
  • New Motor Mounts
  • New Seatbelts (front seats only)
  • New Tires
  • New Battery
  • New Cooling fan (electric)
  • New Muffler
  • New Alternator
Cons:This is a 1987 Land Rover Defender, they are notorious for having reliability issues, rust, and leaks. I won't waste your time or mine telling you otherwise. You know what you are getting when you buy a Defender... At 85 thousand and something miles I’d say she’s in about as good condition as other Defender’s her age. Yes she has rust. Yes she has some electrical issues (the brake lights and turn signals are moody). Yes she leaks water when it rains. Yes she’s slow as hell. Tractor slow.

But hell, you don’t care about all that or else you wouldn’t be looking at her now would you? If you wanted a reliable car you’d be looking at Subarus now wouldn’t you?

Check out the pics and decide for yourself if you want a truck in the condition she is in. It is definitely a project Defender, but she runs great aside from the rust, electrical issues, and other quirks old cars have. I use her to go to the beach, pickup household supplies, cruise with the wife and dog, and just about any other excuse I can make to take her for a spin.
