1900 Land Rover Defender 90 (Ninety) Additional Info:
•1987 LAND ROVER (DEFENDER) NINETY (90)• LOW MILEAGE: 111,850VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
If you were looking for a Land Rover Defender from the year 1900, I'm sorry that I misled you but you'll need to look elsewhere. I am in the U.S. military stationed in the United Kingdom and I have searched the internet and viewed countless Defenders over the past 2 years and have not seen a better example of clean chassis, doors, and engine in an exportable vehicle. Technically, this vehicle is a "Land Rover Ninety" since the model wasn't officially given the name "Defender" until 1991 (even though the design remained unchanged). I drive it daily on a 6 mile round trip commute so the mileage will go up a little. I'm only selling because I found an exportable Defender 110 that both my wife and I fell in love with so we will keep that instead. Most Defenders I found in the UK that were exportable looked great on paper and in pictures but did not pass the in person inspection of chassis, engine, and acceptable levels of corrosion. I will be very up front with answers to any questions you may have. I can send WhatsApp videos as well. I invested a lot of time and money to get this vehicle up to standard before the 110 came along, so it's ready to drive.VIN #:SALLDVAB7AA277961
THE GOOD:• Currently in the UK and fully exportable to USA (original non-galvanized chassis (with VIN) and original engine with # annotated on V5C)•Taxed to FEB 2020 / MOT to AUG 2020 in the UK o BASIC MAINTENANCE HISTORY FOR PAST 13 YEARS. DETAILED HISTORY WITH EXPLANATION OF ALL REPAIRS FOR PAST 3 YEARS (with receipts and pictures) oNEW CYLINDER HEAD AND GASKET o NEW TIMING BELT oNEW BF GOODRICH A/T TIRES oNEW FRONT SEAT PANS oNEW REAR BRAKE DRUMS/SHOES oNEW STARTER oNEW WATER PUMP oNEW OIL PRESSURE SENSOR oNEW WINDOW CHANNELS AND SEALS ON LH/RH DOORS oNEW MIDDLE/REAR EXHAUST PIPE oNEW HAND BRAKE SHOES o RECENTLY PATCHED REAR CROSSMEMBER WITH FLUSH WELD o ALL DOOR FRAMES ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION (see pics with door liners removed) o NEW REAR BENCH SEAT INSTALLED o 19J ENGINE RUNS STRONG (cruises comfortably at 60 mph) o THE SALE INCLUDES EXTRA FRONT SEATS (IN GRAY), TWO ADDITIONAL BF GOODRICH TIRES (used but lots of tread remaining) and DIAMOND PLATING FOR THE HOOD (I did not install it since I didn't like the look of it).
THE BAD: o FRONT DAMPERS (shock absorbers) SHOULD BE CHANGED OUT IN THE NEXT YEAR OR SO (right one started squeeking about a month ago and has oil seepage) o PREVIOUS OWNER PAINTED THE VEHICLE BUT DID NOT APPLY A CLEAR COAT SO THE PAINT IS STARTING TO FADE o FOOTWELLS HAVE SMALL AREA OF CORROSION THAT WAS PATCHED OVER BY PREVIOUS OWNER, BUT IT'S NOT A PERMANENT FIX o THE HEATER DOESN'T WORK o THERE ARE SMALL AREAS WHERE THE DOOR SKINS ARE BUBBLING (I have mitigated them from spreading further by using putty to block water ingress in the window channels) o SMALL PATCH OF SURFACE LEVEL CORROSION ON BULKHEAD o THERE ARE A FEW MINOR MYSTERY OIL LEAKS (nothing serious but full disclosure is important)
PAYMENT:$500 non-refundable deposit required within 48 hours. Full amount due in 7 days. If you ANY QUESTIONS, please send me a message before buying.
SHIPPING:The buyer is responsible for all pickup, shipping, and export fees from Gloucester, United Kingdom. If the buyer would like, I can drive the vehicle to a port within 100 miles of Gloucester (Southampton is the best option). I can share the shipping and import info I have researched as well.
BOTTOM LINE:This vehicle is 32 years old which is like 80 in human years. I like to compare it to a grandfather who is a combat vet - he may rattle a little when he walks and isn't as fast as he used to be, but he's tough as nails and dependable when you need him! This Land Rover is ready to drive and also has great bones if you want to modify it after entry into the USA. Even if you don't buy it, I love talking about Defenders so send me a message.
