1977 Land Rover Other Additional Info:
This hurts...I have had this Rover for 18 years and it has helped me renovate three houses, entertain two kids, and amuse one wife. I originally had it built for me in England at the Land Rover Centre in Huddersfield and shipped to Baltimore, but now it is time to let it go...almost like a child going off to college!
The Rover is an ExMOD truck that spent some time as a road side assistance vehicle before being transformed into what you see. It was an FFR or Fitted For Radio truck and as such, has a 24 volt electrical system. Parts are readily available but they are somewhat more expensive. They are hardier though. And being a proper English vehicle, it is a right hand drive. It also has a rebuilt MOD engine with less than 10,000 miles on it. All five tires are BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires with little wear and I had an overdrive installed. The exhaust is stainless steel and it in very good shape. It is mechanically solid and runs well.
Ok, not so good things: this was a working truck, not a show truck so it has dings, dents, scraps, and wear and tear. It does have some rust issues. The outriggers are rusting and the rear section is rusted but rested of the frame is solid. Also the window portion of the doors have rust and the windows do not slide but you can remove them from the door easily. The license plate light has been knocked off. It does have an oil cooler but it was not connected to the replacement engine, but could be.
I am happy to answer any questions or supply any other photos you may want.
