History
The first two owners used the vehicle on a farm only, hence the low mileage. It was purchased by a US Navy Officer stationed in Cornwall, England in 2005. He then met a lady, got married, and imported the vehicle back to the US in 2006. It was registered and titled in IL, and enjoyed as an occasional summer weekend vehicle and stored during winters until Autumn 2018.
I have MOTs from 1993 – 2004 and a box full of receipts for services and parts up to now. Maintenance has been carried out from 2005 at The Euro Shop in Lake Villa, IL, which is a specialist shop for Land Rovers and European cars - European Car Service Chicago Milwaukee | The Euro Shop Inc. | 847-265-5440
Total of over £4,500 worth of receipts from both UK and US from Atlantic British, Exmoor Trim, LRParts other and Land Rover specialists back in the UK.

Driveability
An absolute pleasure. Low mileage and no expense spared on keeping it running excellently. Starts with no problem, runs like clockwork, and pulls well in all gears. I haven’t driven a RHD stick since I left the UK in 2011, and had no problems whatsoever. All service and maintenance was carried out at The Euro Shop in Lake Villa, IL. Since owning I’ve been driving it around town every few days and getting plenty of attention!
Exterior
Body and chassis in good shape with genuine patina. All lights and electrics are working. No obvious rust spots or damaged paintwork (although it has been roller painted at some point). Wheels in fantastic shape with good rubber on them – I also have the 5th wheel that can be mounted on the rear door or hood. All doors lock, including the rear. Front bumper NAS style bar and Hella lights are not included in the sale. Tired looking UK license plate mount on front can be removed if you desire.
Interior
Very tidy for a 1974. Exmoor Trim cloth seats in the front, with cubby box, and bench seats in the rear. Electrics all work. Carpeted throughout and in good shape. No radio ever fitted. Windows slide and lock as they should. Vents open and close, and dash is in overall good condition.
I am gutted to let this go. It’s only for sale as I have two Defenders heading to the US from the UK and need to clear some space on the driveway…and keep my wife off my back! It’s a great original example and I would love for it to go to an enthusiast home where it will be enjoyed and well looked after.
