1969 Land Rover Other Additional Info:
This Landy started out its life in Northern Ireland serving in the British Army as a Fitted For Radio (FFR) mobile landing command center. At some point it made it's way to Virginia, then Tennessee, then Texas, where I bought it. I drove it back home to the east coast and enjoyed the vehicle for several years until it overheated and blew the head. I pulled it apart about 18 months ago and never completed the repair. Life is too busy right now, and I need to get Ol' Pappy out of my yard.
Plan on replacing at least the head and radiator. This would be an excellent candidate for a conversion to GM, Chevy, Mercedes or Volvo redblock. The 24 volt system has been changed to 12v, alternator conversion done as well. Gearbox, transfer case and drivetrain should be in working condition. I drove it to where it sits now and pulled the head.
Comes with obligatory boxes of spare and new parts which include: original owners manual military issue, green bible, original wiring, original gauges, original dash panel, military oil cooler and oil lines, 8 blade fan, front hand crank, original pintle hook, new light baskets. Spare: water pump, alternator, clutch housing, clutch assembly, alternator, front engine cover, oil pan, oil pump, generators (2), distributors (2), front differential carriage, crank, cam, head, glass and 24v military distributor. Various bran new maintenance items - seals, filters lubricants.
Some rust on the outriggers. Frame is good (pings) and coated with waxoil. Bulkhead is solid with no rust. Although this is no cream puff, it is a solid vehicle. True mileage unknown. Pioneer package included. Does not run or start, sold as-is, where is. Buyer must arrange shipping.
