1948 saw the introduction of the iconic Defender, then simply named the Land Rover series 1. This indestructible off-roader has featured as part of the marks catalogue ever since. Half way through its 68-year existence in the 90's it was renamed ‘Defender'. Sadly, 68 years after its introduction, Land Rover retires this timeless, quintessential 4X4 in 2015.
