My Beloved 1994 Range Rover Classic LWB. In Plymouth Blue metallic, with tan leather, a rare and desirable colour combination.
A California car from new, she is totally rust free.
I have the original hand books, the window sticker showing the options and $50k plus price tag. The title is clear. Registered Non-Op in California. (No back fees)
I bought her 2yrs ago with the intention of a restoration/resto mod, a brooklands bodykit, and an interior update. (see file pic of how she could look) I chose this particular vehicle, for its colour scheme and overall condition. I love the extra space and comfort of the LWB, its such a wonderful ride sitting in the back, feeling like the Queen. She has obviously been well cared for in the past. There are many new parts fitted, the mechanical condition is great. She's smooth, powerful and drives like a much younger vehicle. The original jacks, including the foam housing that fits in the spare wheel, untouched tool kit!!!The fact that the trunk deck is still there and further proves she was well loved. There are lots of extra spare bits, switches, interior clock, bumper end caps etc.
With a little love this can be a classic piece of motoring history.
Alas it breaks my heart to have to part company. I'm a British ex-pat, from Solihull. Which is where Range Rovers are built to this day. Having a rust free example here in the US, was my little piece of home. I have restored many vehicles in the UK, where rust is the biggest killer. This example is a joy to restore. All she needs is the interior detailing and a full refinish of the paintwork to make her outstanding. Any items you see missing in the images are in boxes in the trunk. Apart from the cowl surround for the stereo.I had her shipped to Dallas TX with me when I moved from California, however my circumstances have changed. I hate to leave her on the driveway. The Texas weather is not as kind as California, I don’t want her to perish.
Mechanically.
In excellent shape. 4.2 Litre Rover V8 engine is smooth and powerful. No overheating issues, oil leaks or smoke. Transmission shifts smoothly. The transfer box works fine. All the spheres are clean (no pitting).
Brakes were in great working order, with no ABS light on. However, I swapped the ABS pump to use on my daily driver SWB. Pads and Discs are fine. Replace the ABS pump and she’s a daily driver. I haven’t got the time to find and fit another one, hence the price is realistic.
The air suspension has been replaced with EMU springs and shocks with a 2’ lift. It rides wonderfully.
Bodywork.
There are a few small parking dings here and there, from inconsiderate parking, not accident damage. A small dent in the front left wing. (see images). There is no visible sign of previous damage, or repairs. She's a very clean example that just needs a little love to make mint, or an excellent base for whatever mods you have in mind.
Paint is in reasonable condition, clear is faded on the hood, trunk and roof, after spending its life in the California sun. She is very presentable as is. However a classic like this deserves a re-finish.
The plus point is that there is NO rust. The bottom of the doors, every nook and cranny that normally corrodes is in tip top shape. The chrome bumpers are rust free.
The 16’ optional alloys (original Land Rover) are in excellent shape, nominal curb rash, but will need tyres.
Interior.
The front and back seats are in excellent condition. There are no rips or tears. Just dirt ingrained over the last 20 odd yrs on the driver’s seat. The electrics seats work, however the memory does not.
The burl walnut will need restoring but is all there and complete. (I was going to refresh the wood with brushed aluminium for an updated look. All the electric windows and sunroof work. The carpets are a little dirty, no holes or excess wear. Nothing a good detailing wouldn’t fix. There are the original over mats too, but again, they need a good clean too. Door trim is all complete, minus one speaker. Headlining has been redone, dark alcantara. No sagging.
She has previously been fitted audio and TVs. There is a homemade surround housing a dvd player on the passenger side where the grab handle was. (I have a replacement). Under the rear seats, there are amps etc. I have no desire to remove them, an added bonus for the buyer. I’m leaving everything as it is.
Looking for an enthusiast to give her the love she needs. If you have read this far, then you know what these vehicles will be worth in the coming years.
Interested parties, please feel free to email me. I can send images of particular details upon request.
Thank you for looking.
