Solid 1984 LandRover Defender Series, 110 model. First year of the real Defenders with disc brakes, Power steering and the most important revision of coil spring-suspension to replace the obsolete leafspring type. VIN # isSALLDHAH7AA203488.
Solid TWO-OWNER Land Rover, residing here in California since 2014, having been purchased in the UK from Team Sharp, a British Off-road competition venue, where it performed the duties of support- vehicle until early 2007, at which time it was purchased by the current owner. It resided in the UK until 2009, when it embarked in a cross-Europe trip that encompassed Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, making its way to the U.S in 2010.
This Defender 110 iscompletelyoriginal, exactly as it was originally built ( except for the updated larger 16" wheels).
98K original miles. It starts immediately, idles and drives well on both town and on the highway, with no leaks or smells.
There is n0 rust or corrosion on this vehicle as it would be expected, other than some minor on one end of a rear rail, and minor spotting on the passenger floorboard seam which had been repaired previously, and some minor crud on the left side door. BEWARE OF RUST BUCKETS COMING FROM THE EAST COAST~! ( it's beyond me why anyone would want to buy an East coast car with potential hidden rust ).
Clean factory-optional 16" Hurricane steel wheels with all-terrain tires; old original hood spare.
Engine is a 4.2L PERKINS Turbo Diesel, which runs good and it is virtually bulletproof. As it is well documented in all Land rover circles, these motors produced a tremendous amount of low-end torque and could climb just about anything. It starts IMMEDIATELY, with NO glow-plug drama or cold-start issues ever again ! It idles smoothly and drives well.A super strong, reliable motor. Always runs cool. NO overheating issues to contend with. NONE.
Recent maintenance requirements are:* A front driveshaft ( bought a new one, lost the invoice and could not return it)* New tires; these are fair* Carpet re-lining of cargo cab

5 Spd manual transmission shifts well into all gears. Four-wheel disc brakes brake smoothly without pulsation ( it also has new brakes).Power steering, manual windows, all lights work.Transfer case and differentials engage smoothly and precisely, without noises, crunching or sloppiness.
Finish is still in its original Lapis Blue factory paint color, with NO hood or roofline fading nor oxidation of the clearcoat ( common ailment on all Land Rovers). Still shines quite nicely. I retained the TEAM SHARP UK Logos, which can be removed if desired. This is probably one of the best colors for the Defender series Land Rovers.The body, chassis and undercarriage are very solid considering this Defender is thirty three years young !
This Land Rover is beingsold unrestored. Its original Cloth upholstery is in very good condition and has held up well.There are no cracks or tears on any of the leather bolsters in any of the seats. Dashboard is clean.The photos show the Land Rover accurately. NON SMOKER vehicle always. A very solid, unrestored Defender, with better-than-average miles and a good 4.6L engine. It runs well with a strong, solid powertrain. It will make an excellenttraveler, camping vehicle or just a fun Land Rover to drive aroundas it is, or restore to your taste. This Defender 110 is turn-key and runs well.
