1988 Land Rover Defender LEFT HAND DRIVE CSW Additional Info:
Note on less than perfect feedback:My feedback score has dropped from 100% because ofa malicious retaliation by a buyer who refused to pay my dealer processing fee but didn't want to cancel the sale either. I reported the buyer to ebay for leaving malicious feedback but ebay didn't remove it,it is well known if you are a seller on ebay thatebay does not protect sellers against manipulative buyer practices. I am including this statement to explain my recently diminished feedback rating. Please read the full listing including terms and conditions at the end before bidding.
This sale is not subject to my dealer processing fee of $199 anyway.
This 1988 Land Rover Defender 110 was recently imported from Italy. It is original LHD with the 2.5 turbodiesel engine, County spec with sunroof and LT77 gearbox.VIN is SALLDHMB8EA324829. Fully legal import with customs clearance documents, the vehicle will be sold with a clear Virginia title in my dealer business name. Odometer reads 245000 kms, which is 152000 miles.
The Defender has no rust, it was repainted in Land Rover Fuji White (2012 model year color) a few months ago. There is just a spot or two of the 'contact corrosion' on door skins that anyone who is familiar with these vehicles will know about. It happens due to aluminum door skins on metal frames.
It has been repainted but not restored so it is not perfect but a solid running and driving vehicle. Has nice Michelin tires all around with good tread. No problems starting and no smoke of any color from the exhaust even under hard acceleration.
Frame is all solid as are door bottoms, floors, all the usual areas of concern on Land Rovers are in good shape.
These vehicles are by no means meant to be fast but I felt acceleration was a bit slow on my test drive, was ok once it got up to about 40 mph. Could possibly use some diesel pump tuning to get a little more acceleration, throttle felt a bit restricted. Gearbox shifts fine and 4Lo, differential locks engage as they should. Heater blower works fine. Driver's door window channel probably needs replaced as it's a bit hard to get the window all the way up, but it does go up with a little help. Dash pad has a few minor cracks (see picture), could be covered with some vinyl strips though it's just 'character' for an unrestored vehicle. Headliner is a little dirty but in decent shape. Door cards are not perfect but serviceable. Overall the interior is in good condition for it's age.
Reasonable price, the LHD 110s are difficult to source overseas and this one was no exception. Serious buyers only. I am a Virginia dealer and this car has a Virginia title but it is stored in Dundalk, MD and will be delivered or shipped from Dundalk, MD.
