Please note: This truck was imported from Spain, nd while it does have a 17-digit VIN# (VSELBCMJ8AZ100184), his VIN is not recognized by the eBay system as it wasn't originally sold in the U.S. This does not impact titling, egistration, r insurance.
We bought this truck in August, oping for a quick project, nd getting the very opposite. We're happy to have it done and back in the U.S. for sale (finally!).
Our story and history with the vehicle can be found here:
1983 Land Rover 109 Turbodiesel Station Wagon
Interior: The front two rows of seats have been reupholstered in a hand-stitched black vinyl, hile the four rear-facing jump seats are original to the truck, nd the black vinyl still remains in great condition for it's age. The carpeting in the front was replaced at the same time, ith a custom fitted black replacement, nd the rubber mat in the second row was added fresh as well. Dashboard and accessories are in good condition, ith a vintage stereo system installed, ut not currently operating. Windows crank easily, o broken or missing parts. Little white plunger to the left of the steering wheel must be pulled out - and held out - to turn off the truck and remove the key. Gauges and lights work.
Exterior: Fresh Warwick Green paint on the body and Alaskan White on the roof and wheels was applied in late 2015. The body was found to have some rust in the floors and outriggers, ll of which was cut out in its entirety and replaced with new galvanized components. The paint looks great, nd the new chunky tires have less than 250 miles on them since installed.
Drivetrain: One of the healthiest trucks we've done yet, he 2.25L diesel with the freshly rebuilt turbo feels (relatively speaking) great on backroads, nd was able to get up around 70mph on longer stretches of highway in 5th gear. It's not a quick truck, ut I was - for once - not embarassed in traffic when leaving stoplights, tc. Since it uses the same 2.25L 4-cylinder diesel installed in these trucks for deacades, eplcement parts are readily available from Paddock Spares (UK) or Rovers North (Vermont).
Happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking.
