1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV

Complete Engine Restoration / 2 Owners / New Clutch / New Tires

Our 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV is finished in a unique dark red paint (special order) which contrasts its cream colored leather interior beautifully. The vehicle was originally delivered without the North American front and rear bumpers (Euro-look) at the request of the original buyer.

Restoration & Service

It has recently undergone a thorough $40,000+ engine-out overhaul which included an engine rebuild in order to get the car running like new. Both the engine and gearbox were removed from the vehicle; many important components were replaced including a brand new clutch, new engine gaskets, engine mounts, hoses, etc.

It also has brand new Pirelli P Zero tires, with huge 345/35-15 rear tires which were specifically designed for the Countach. Less than 50 miles have been driven on the newly rebuilt engine, clutch and tires. Both the engine and clutch are very smooth and operate as intended on the day of its original delivery.

The vehicle’s odometer displays 72,849 kms (45,266 miles), however, thanks to a thorough mechanical restoration, the car drives and feels much better than its mileage indicates.

5000 QV (quattrovalvole)

The 5000 QV was released in 1985 and featured a revised engine design which was bored and stroked to 5167 cc with four valves per cylinder (“quattrovalvole” in Italian). A significant upgrade under the hood was the introduction of fuel injection (Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection), replacing the six Weber carburetors used in previous models.

The carburetors were also moved from the sides and moved to top of the engine for better breathing. It also included wider front tires and revised suspension work as a result. Some body panels were also replaced by Kevlar.

Only 610 units were built worldwide.

History & Ownership

It has only had 2 previous owners in its lifetime. We acquired the Countach from the original seller who worked at Lamborghini for many decades and worked on the vehicle throughout its history.
