1980 Jeep CJ7 Renegade in its original Brown exterior color along with the original tan denim vinyl on the interior. 62,000 miles it has the 258 I6 with T4 Manual Transmission. Hardtop with hard doors.
Every vehicle has a story and this one is no different. It was purchased new in October 1979. In 1985 it was purchased by the gentleman I bought it from who last had it on the road in 1991. The Jeep has the original drivetrain and looks mostly original however, it now has a fiberglass tub and fenders. The hood, grille and doors are original and the hood possesses the original decals. I have the original tailgate which is in good shape too. The interior is original with the exception of the carpet and roll bar padding. The shoulder belts were also a modification. Original wagon wheels have tires with very good tread. The hardtop was originally black and was repainted its current color some time ago. A 2 inch lift kit was added as well.
This Jeep runs and drives great. Very strong motor and shifts perfect. I have paperwork for the Jeep going back to the early 80’s when it was new. Also have the original owners manual etc. The Jeep is by no means perfect and it could easily be picked apart by a fussy enthusiast. That said, being a CJ7 nut like I am, I am always looking and these are getting hard to find with any resemblance of originality. You see them often but they are often hacked and/rusted junk. Don’t bid if you want a show Jeep, but if you want something you can drive and do some light off-roading with little worry, this may be the Jeep for you. Please contact me with any questions before bidding and know that 0 feedback bidders need to contact me prior as well. If there is a bid from a 0 feedback bidder, it will be cancelled immediately based on my recent experiences trying to crash an auction. Thanks for looking.
