1983 Jeep J20 Additional Info:
This Auction is for a 1983 Jeep J20 pick up long bed. The engine is an AMC 360 2BBL carb, with a T-18 4sp manual transmission. The transfer case is a New Process 208 and the diffs are a Dana 44 front with a Dana 60 rear(3.73 gear ratio). About 6 years ago the truck was taken down to the frame and sanded and coated with POR15, then top coated with satin black rustoleum. The under side of the cab and pick up bed were also sanded and all rust holes patched and welded, then coated with POR15 & top coated with rustoleum satin black. The whole front clip was replaced(originalcompletelyunusable) from an 83 Cherokee wide track Laredo. The fenders (inner & outer) werecompletelysanded down and and coated with POR15 on the underside & then primered and painted with the original paint code formula. The rest of the truck was repainted by the last owner quite a few years ago and the paint was a shade or 2 off. The clear coat I used did not hold up well, hence the look of the front fenders. Many new parts were installed during the process and I still have most of thereceipts. New Energy Suspension body mount bushings were installed and the cab mounts were sanded and new tops welded in place. Also installed were the following: new water pump, timing chain & gears, dist. car & rotor, ignition wires(set up was changed to the ford style to eliminate the cross fire from the old style small cap-set up is from a mid 70's ford 460), reman smog pump, A.I.R. pipes, all new brake lines(poly armour), reman calipers, new brake hoses-front and rear, new master cyl, all new coolant hoses, fuel pump, new oe fuel fill hoses, fuel tank sending unit, new rear brake shoes, hardware & wheel cyl. sanded and painted y pipe with the rest of the exhaust being replaced, new grade 8hardwarewhere ever needed, new MOOG steering linkage & many more items that I can't remember. Also I installed the stainless fuel line set up the later model truck used, installed the heatnoise shield mat in the cab to make the ridequieter. The springs were replaced before I had the truck and by the look of the pics very stout. I've had the truck pretty loaded and never seen her squat. In the bed is a factory Jeep bed mat and the bed floor is almost rust free(just some surface rust). The truck has a rear sliding window(latches are not broken) and the truck cap also has sliding window into the bed. I also have a class III trailer hitch to go with the truck. Wiring is run front to back for the hitch, but not hooked up. The exterior of the truck bed was not finished, just the rust cancer cut out and panels screwed in. For the most part all the truck needs is the bed done and repainted.Me and my best friend worked on this truck for over 6 months during our free time. The goal was we were both tired of all of the Jeep trucks we owned rusting away beforetheirtime. I wanted this truck to be the last truck I ever owned. Well now I don't use it much and it just sits around. I've only put 5,000 miles on it maybe in the last 6yrs, and only 5 miles for the last 2(to the inspection station at the end of the street and back). The truck has brand new PA state inspection stickers and I just had to put a new fuel pump on.Please ask any and all questions. Please lookcloselyat all of the pics. I've put alot of time and money into this truck and know I won't get it all back, just want it to have a good home. Those of you who have bought Jeep parts from me over the years know me by this truck(been my profile pic forever).Local pick up only, I am not going to try and arrange a delivery service. Thanks for looking!
