Up for sale is a 1982 Jeep CJ7 that has received a serious round of mechanical investment. This isn't a yard ornament, it's a capable, freshly sorted rig ready for the trail or the road. Nearly every major mechanical system has been rebuilt, replaced, or upgraded.

Drivetrain

The heart of this CJ is the classicAMC 258 inline-six, rebuilt by the previous owner and now fed by aHolley Sniper fuel injection systemwith all-new fuel lines, a new fuel tank, and a new electric fuel pump. Ignition is handled by theSniper HEI system with a Sniper distributor.

Power runs through aNovak SM465 4-speed transmissionwith a granny low first gear. The clutch system has anew flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing just installed.Transfer case is arebuilt Dana 300with atwin stickconversion, giving you independent control of high/low range on both front and rear outputs.

Tub & Interior

This CJ7 received aYJ tub swap, with the fuel fill relocated back to the proper CJ position and the rear tailgate converted back to the original CJ-style configuration. The interior of the tub has aspray-in bedlinercoating throughout, protecting the floors and making cleanup easy.

Suspension & Tires

Running a3" suspension lift with a 1" body liftfor a total of 4" of added clearance.33x11.50 Mickey Thompson Deegan MTsincluding the spare.

Anew custom skid plate and transmission mountwere fabricated and installed to protect the drivetrain underside.

What Still Needs Attention

Being upfront about what's left to do:

• Front axle– has not been touched and is original but has not problems. A rebuild or upgrade would be the natural next step for a serious wheeler.At a minimum axle shims should be added for better handling.
• Dash– functional but dated; could use a refresh or custom buildout.
• Heater– was removed and is not present. Easy to add back or upgrade to a modern unit.
• Gauges– some gauges need attention/repair.
• Seats– showing visible wear; functional but cosmetically rough.Rear seat included but not installed.
• Two body mounts- still need to be installed
