This 1985 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade was registered with its previous owner in Texas for 15 years, during which it was refinished, painted, and its interior was refreshed. a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission, it was acquired in 2021 and subsequent work has involved adding Holley Sniper fuel injection, installing a Flowmaster muffler, new Holley fuel tank with fuel pump, rear axle, clutch assembly, rear main seal, power steering gear, and timing chain. A marine Kenwood stereo and 6×9″ speakers were fitted, as well. Additional equipment includes a chrome grille, a tan soft top, full metal doors, and 15″ chrome wheels. The CJ-7 shows 180k miles and is offered with service records, spare parts, a bikini top, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean South Carolina title. Finished at the factory in Olympic White (9B), the body was stripped to bare metal ~12 years ago, and its hood, windshield frame, and a fender were replaced before it was refinished in GM-specification Pure White. The windshield and side windows were also replaced under previous ownership along with lenses and seals. The locks in the doors do not work, and the right door handle is loose. The chromed 15″ steel wheels were mounted with 31×10.50″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires in November 2021. The steering gearbox, brake master cylinder, and shock absorbers were replaced in 2022. The brake rotors and pads were replaced in June 2025. Bestop high-back bucket seats are trimmed in Spice upholstery, and the rear bench is reupholstered to match, while the floors are coated with textured bedliner. The cabin also has a replacement dashboard pad and seatbelts. Two 6×9″ marine speakers and a Kenwood marine stereo with Bluetooth were installed in 2021. Mounted on a tilt column, a replacement soft-feel sport steering wheel fronts the dashboard, which has a digital outside-temperature display, a voltmeter, an oil-pressure gauge, and an 85-mph speedometer with a six-digit odometer showing 180k miles, ~7k of which were added by the seller. The coolant temperature gauge is not working, and the windshield wipers only work intermittently. A spare windshield wiper motor accompanies the Jeep. The 258ci inline-six was equipped with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection in January 2023. A replacement Holley fuel tank with an in-tank pump was installed under current ownership, as was a replacement catalytic converter and a Flowmaster muffler, and the timing chain, flywheel, rear main seal, valve cover, alternator, ignition distributor, and spark plugs were replaced. The rear axle was also replaced in 2024. The transfer case and 4 wheel drive work well. This is a very clean, reliable and head turning late model CJ7 that is a lot of fun!
