1969 Jeep Commando Additional Info:

Offered here is a 1969 Jeepster Commando in prestige condition, powered by the legendary 225ci Dauntless V6, factory rated at 160 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque. This 3-speed 4x4 with Low and High range has been completely refurbished and upgraded for both show and function — an ideal collectible or “prepper” vehicle. The 1969 Jeepster was the last year for the Kaiser Jeeps before AMC took over in 1970. This is an original!

  • The Jeepster Commando was produced by Kaiser Jeep Corporation from 1966 through 1969.

  • In early 1970, American Motors Corporation (AMC) acquired Kaiser Jeep.

  • After that acquisition, the vehicle line continued under AMC, branded simply as “Jeep Commando” (AMC dropped the “Jeepster” name).

  • The 1970 models began showing AMC’s engineering and design changes — including a new front-end design and different engine options (AMC 232 inline-six, 304 V8), replacing the classic Dauntless 225 V6.

  • Professionally restored by Steve’s Classic Auto Restoration, the Jeepster received a full frame and body refresh, including primer-based repainting, roll bar reinforcement to the frame, new seat belts, and upgraded shocks and bumpers. The Dauntless engine was inspected, found to be in excellent shape, and remains original.

Additional upgrades include a Smittybilt X20 winch, Jerry-can mount(two cans included), a Yaesu FT-857 HF/VHF/UHF Ham radio, new muffler system, swing gate with mounted spare, and a reinforced undercarriage.

The odometer shows 47,628 miles (TMU), and the vehicle runs and drives beautifully.
