1984 Jeep CJ CJ7 Additional Info:

84 CJ7. 258 with Howell fuel injection and 4.0 head, cam, fully rebuilt. Starts and runs in all temperatures with just a turn of the key. 20 gallon poly tank with in-tank electric fuel pump. TFI ignition system. ARB air lockers front and rear. Superior shafts front with large u-joints, superior one piece shafts rear. 4.56 gears. 4.5" Rubicon Express lift with YJ springs. 1" body lift. Superwinch front hubs. Bestop Supertop. 5 new Yokohama Geolandar MT in 35x12.50x15 on American Racing 767 wheels. On board air driven by engine, air tank under vehicle. High output Delco alternator. 5 speed T5 transmission with overdrive. Dana 300 with Tom Woods CV rear shaft. PSC steering box with Borgeson anti-vibration steering shaft and new U-joints. High steering with flipped tie rod and drag link. Factory sway bar and Rubicon Express quick disconnects. Radio and bluetooth. Bestop Trailmax seats front and rear. Warn front bumper, Jeeperman rear bumper with swing out tire holder and hi-lift jack mount. Full cage through floor and tied to frame - parking brake is still fully functional with cage installed. Power brakes with new brakes all around. New pre-bent hard brake lines installed in OEM location with OEM clips. New brake proportioning valve in original postion. New OEM pre-bent fuel lines. Jeep passes emissions. Paint code is Jeep PBQ. Its all nice and works. Jump in and drive it wherever and however you want. Just a nice old Jeep that's been built tastefully. • 1988 YJ 258 short block with 1996 Cherokee 4.0 head
• Late model 258 uses larger 1/2" head bolts
• 4.0 head with preferred casting
• 4.0 aluminum valve cover with Felpro VS50022C gasket
• Borla Header for a Jeep YJ
• 4.0 head bolts
• 4.0 pushrods
• Crane Hydraulic Cam 753901 with hydraulic lifters 99278-12
• ARP rod bolts
• New flywheel
• Cloyes True Roller TIming Chain and Gears
• Melling High Volume Oil pump
• New cast pistons
• Timing cover gasket by Fel Pro TCS45117
• TFI upgrade to ignition using parts from 1982 Ford F150 with 300 inline six. Plugs are at .045
• Remy High Output 20250 Alternator (factory high output upgrade)

Fuel System:

• Howell fuel injection. All parts are easily obtained from a 1991 Chevrolet C1500 4.3L V6. This is the California emission kit and the Jeep has emissions equipment connected including a catalytic convertor.
• Engine start with a turn of a key in any temperature, angle, situation.
• Factory optional 20 gallon poly fuel tank and skid plate.
• 2024 received all new factory fuel hard lines and any soft required soft lines.
• Fuel pump from a 1991 Chevrolet C1500 installed in-tank. There is no external frame rail pump needed.
• Fuel gauge works.
• Fuel system also received all new factory return hard lines and soft lines.
• Fuel system is clean, and is heat insulated (silver) under the hood so you never have vapor issues.
• Fuel filter is Wix 33310

Transmission:

• Factory T5 5 speed with overdrive. No issue in and out of any gear. Shifts quite nice.

Transfer Case:

• Original Dana 300 transfer case. This has been modified to correct speedometer for the 35 inch tires.
• Tom Woods CV rear driveshaft
• Front shaft is ok but slip splines are showing age and the front shaft should be replaced soon

Axles:

• AMC 20 rear with Superior 1 piece alloy shafts (this company is now called Revolution Gear), 4.56 gears, and ARB locker.
• Dana 30 front with Superior alloy shafts, large u-joints, Superwinch hubs, 4.56 gears, and ARB air locker.
• In 2024 the Jeep received new pre-formed hard brake lines, new proportioning valve, new master cylinder (Jeep CJ), new booster (1994 YJ), new extended soft lines front and rear, near rear wheel cylinders and hardware, and new front calipers and pads.

Roll Cage:

• Roll cage fabricated by Dave Kemner at Full Circle 4x4. Jeep has never been rolled or flopped onto its side.
• The cage is tied through the tub floor and to the frame.

Power Steering:

• Steering box from PSC.
• Steering shaft is Borgeson and is the upgraded model with vibration dampening.
• Steering and drag link has been flipped to top of knuckles. Drag link replaced in 2024.

Power Brakes:

• Power booster is from a 1994 YJ (replaced in 2024)
• Master cylinder is from a 1984 CJ (replaced in 2024)

Bumpers:

• Front bumper by Warn.
• Rear bumper by Jeeperman.com - has tire carrier and Hi-Lift jack holder.

On-Board Air:

• Sanden air compressor model 1985.
• Kilby Air Tank under Jeep
• Compressor starts with a switch on dash and keep pressure in tank.
• ARB lockers both engage using this air.
• Can also inflate tires quite quickly.

Other Parts and Details:

• Original body repainted in Jeep paint code PBQ and tub lined inside.
• Bestop Supertop and Bestop Doors
• Bestop Trailmax Seats front and rear
• LED taillights
• Jensen Bluetooth Radio with Rockford Fosgate speakers in dash (speakers are too weak - needs an upgrade)
• Rubicon Express 4.5 Extreme Duty Lift. Rubicon extended sway bar disconnects, extended shocks (installed in 2024). Rides beautiful.
• 1" Daystar body lift
• 35x12.50x15 Yokohama Geolandar MT installed in 2024

The only reason for selling this Jeep is because I have 2 of them...I don't need 2 of them. Its not perfect but its also not far from being one of the nicest Jeeps out there. An honest Jeep that is very much something you can jump into and drive down the road or cross-country.
