1982 Jeep CJ Additional Info:

You are looking at a rare 1982 Jeep CJ-7 that has been fully restored. Jeep came outwith the Limited model in 1982 & 1983 only. This was a luxurymodel of the very successful CJ-7 line. These Jeeps came fully optioned from the factory with full leather interior door panels, color matched interior, 6 cylinder motor, 20 Gallon tank, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Black Windshield Frame, side steps, side rocker molding, center console, bumperettes and much more. No expense was spared on this Jeep.
This Jeep underwent a full frame off restoration over the past 14months. This started out as a factory low milage CJ-7 Limited in Mist Silver Metallic this Jeep was completely rust free and was in very nice condition. I personally built this Jeep from the ground up adding upgrades that notonlyimproved thedrivabilityof the Jeep but the safety as well. This Jeep starts, runs and stops betterthan any CJ-7 of its time.
I took the Jeep down to the bare frame, sent off to paint and body the rust free tub, fenders, hood and windshield frame to have acomplete make over in their factory color. The rust free frame's interior was coatedwith Eastwood Internal Frame coating and theexterior wascoatedwith industrial frame coating in black. The rear framecrossmember (which is proneto being poorly constructed) was replacedwith a heavy duty Laser Cut 3/16" rear crossmember that is far nicer and stronger than a factory piece while retaining all the factory mounting points. The hubs and brakes were fully rebuilt at this time and allseals were replaced as well. The frontsteering was upgraded to an HD Tie rod/ Drag link setup from Rugged Ridge. It is 1.25" OD steel that is .25" wall thickness is well built. An AGR steering boxand a Borgeson steering shaft was also added at this time as the best steering upgrades available. At this time a 3" Skyjacker suspension lift was added (Springs, Shocks, Pitman arm, U-Bolts, etc) and 33" Pro Comp All Terrain Tires on Black Pro Comp Steel Wheels. The driveshafts wererefurbished using all Dana/Spicer parts U-Joints, Straps, etc.
The body wascompletely stripped and refinished in the factory color. At this time the rust free interior was sprayed in black bedliner and the underside of the body was sprayed in 3M Rubberized undercoating to further waterproof/ protect the Jeep from the elements and add a niceinterior upgrade. Thefactory blue interior was swapped out for newer Bestop Trailmax Seats in denim black. These seats are far more comfortable and far better built than the factory units. The blue limited interior door panels were swapped forlater model black leather renegade units as well as new door pulls, cranks, etc. The blue Leather wrapped steeringwheel was swapped for a perfect later model grey Jeep leather unit that matches nicely. The OEM wiring harness was completely cleaned from top to bottom during this process (interior and exterior harnesses). The OEMspeedometer cluster was retained while the voltage and oilpressuregauges were swapped for newer units. A USBPioneer CD player was added along with new speakers. LED lights were used throughout the interior clusters of this Jeep. A stainless grab handle, aluminum HVAC knobs, and fully restored black factory console was placed back in the Jeep as well. The entire heater box was fully cleaned and rebuilt, new heater duct, new heater core and the blower motor was upgraded to a Chevy Blazer fan motor and cage for an intense heater upgrade! The top is a new Bestop Supertop that is in Black Crush. The anodized aluminum rocker arms were stripped oftheir anodizing and fully polished to a mirror like shine. The factory bumperettes and factory front bumper were polished to amirror like shine at this time as well. The rear lights arefactory looking units that are fully LED for safety and a clean factory look. The front marker lights (side and front) are all brand newunits from Crown and feature LED bulbs as well. New Stainless steel tire stop andlicense plate mount from Kentrol stay out back. The rear tirecarrier was fullycleaned up and repainted in chassis black with matching spare wheel and 34" Super Swamper TSL spare tire (I did this in case I ever wanted to goto a 35" tire this would work for either size). All rubber in the entire jeep (body mounts, sway bar mounts, spring mounts, etc was replaced with a full Daystar polyurethane full body kit forreliability and its good looks. The sway bar bushings were replaced withgreaseable units at this time. All stainless steel hardware was usedthroughout the restoration process unless Grade 8 bolts were required. A new OEM factory Jeep front frame cover was added at this time as well.
Under the hood we pulled out the old 4.2 (110 HP) and replaced itwith a fresh Fuel Injected 4.0 (190 HP) all new seals, gaskets, sensors, plugs, wires, etc were usedthroughout forreliability anddependability a HESCO CPS relocation sensor and custom built in tank electric fuel pump made the Fuel Injection swap possible. A new updated 4.0exhaust manifold was used alongwith new FlowmasterCatalytic converter and Walker muffler/ exhaust pipes was used as well. The frontdownpipe was wrapped inblack fiberglass exhaust wrap to keep the drivers floor board heat down in the summer. If you have ever owned a Jeep you know what I'm talking about! A brand new HD coolingradiator was added at this time as well. The TF999automatic was completely gone through and rebuilt at thistimewith all new bands, clutches and adjustments along with new custom hard transmission cooler lines to make for a smooth shifting ride! The Dana 300 was in great shape so I changed the fluid and gave her a fresh coat of paint. I also added a dualdiagram brake booster to help the larger tires stop during times of need! There is a brand new battery as well.
Brand newwindshield seals, cowl seal, and a brand new windshield were installed at the time of restoration as well. After paint and body was finished the impossible to find OEM Limited and CJ-7 badges were cleaned and reinstalled along with a new Jeep CJ7 Limited decal kit (decals, doorappliqués, step treads) from PhoenixGraphix was added as well as new CJ-7 Limited correct mirrors..
I changed a few things fromthe factory limited package to suit my needs such as new OEM fender flares inblack vs being painted body color, changed the interior color from Slate blue to black, and the performance modifications. I feel this Jeep rides and drives much better than most factory CJ-7 models. It drives well and passed emissionsinspection with flying colors in April 2016. Like I said no expense was spared inthe restoration. I'm sure there are quite a few things I'm missing that weredone to the Jeep, Alongwith the pics below I haveliterally hundreds of photos of the restoration process if there is anything not included/not mentioned you would like to see or know about feel free to send me a message and Iwill immediately get back to youwith ananswer ASAP.
