1979 Jeep CJ Additional Info:
Up for grabs is my remarkable 1979 CJ5 SILVER ANNIVERSARY Jeep. For those who don't know, the Silver Anniversary was AMC's limited offering CJ5 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the CJ5. These were limited production Jeeps that only came in color Quicksilver Metallic (one year only color), had black Renegade stripes, and had the commemerative Silver Anniversary badge on the glovebox.
I purchased this Jeep from the original owner out of southern California, where it has remained since new. The indicated mileage currently reads about 35,000 miles (I'll get photo of odometer tomorrow, but that's close enough for now). The owner was adamant that was original mileage and when I asked him how we was so sure, he explained because he was the original owner, which I did not know at that point. Of course I cannot confirm 35k or 135k, but I have not reason not to believe him. I have the original "pink slip" that's actually pink as seen in the last photo of the listing (that's how they came up with the name pink slip! Back in the day they were actually pink). The buyer of this Jeep will receive a fresh AZ clean and clear title in my name.
This Jeep is extremely straight and very rust free. There is one tiny spot of surface rust on the passenger side front fender about the size of a nickel. I'll capture a photo of that later, but it is almost nothing. This Jeep has so much character that I wouldn't mess with it at all. Coolest patina CJ around!
The Jeep runs and drives well. It has a T150 3-speed transmission with no slop. Engine seems strong. It appears all gauges are working. Soft top in excellent shape. Seats have been redone to close to original style and they've never really been sat in since the previous owner redid them (driver seat has probably 10 minutes of seat time. They're still wrapped in plastic).
Original carpet in fair shape. Will probably clean up well. Tires should be replaced. Don't know when fluids were last changed, so I'd do them also.
Not sure what else to tell you about this Jeep. It's absolutely beautiful with the perfect amount of patina and nothing to hide! Floors are very solid. I'll get photos of them in next day or so. This Jeep is not misrepresented one bit. You'll be tickled pink to drive this thing!!
