1955 Jeep CJ Additional Info:
This is a 1955 military Jeep ID number MD 80422. I believe it to be a model M38A1 which had a heavier frame and suspension and we're often fitted with a machine gun. I believe this Jeep did have a machine gun mounted at one time because of the holes in the bed. It was originally army green then painted red and in more recent years painted black. This is a very solid Jeep with very few rust issues, even the tool box under the passenger seat is solid and not rusted out. The passenger side floor pan had some rust and has been patched and the support braces under that side have some Rust damage. Other than that it is very solid. It has not ran for about a year and a half. I am selling this for a friend and I tried to get it running for him but had a hard time getting it started. When I did a compression check it's kind of low on compression. Three cylinders had 70 lb and one was 78 lb. I suggested to him that it needed freshened up and he doesn't want to spend the money on it. This would make a great restoration project and return it to its original military look. It still has all of the waterproof ignition system intact and functioning. I did change out the plug wires for regular plug wires to help it fire better because the originals are in poor condition, but they come with the Jeep. If you have questions you can call George 620-224-1115 or Neil 6202241039. Good Luck Bidding!
