1988 Jeep Wagoneer Additional Info:
1988 Grand WagoneerI've owned 6 Grand Wagoneers and this is easily the nicest driver of them all. Ibought the car off a friend of mine in Minnesota (It was a summer retreat lake Jeep there). We are moving to a different house and simply don't have the room so my wife says I have to "sell some stuff".
Motor: Factory Reman 383 Stroker. It is in need of a good tune-up or carb adjustment but before I put any time into it, I figure someone will want to do it "their" way. It is a newer style Edlebrock carb. I am not a total motor-head but this thing has tons of power. Once someone has it tuned, it will really shine. Also has Magnaflow exhaust that allows it to breathe properly. Auto-choke works as it should (see video below of motor running). I have all the paperwork from when they did thedyno on the motor and the re-build info.
Interior: Gorgeous. Non-Smoker, no signs of water leaks or moisture smells, no rips. This is expensive to replace so nice to have it DONE! Headliner is 3 years old and was replaced professionally! This interior is VERY ORIGINAL and has not been modified or re-sown in any way. Even has original "Jeep" floor mats.
The woodgrain on this jeep is outstanding, very little blemishes. (Again, VERY expensive to replace/fix)
The Bad: (I am in the aircraft sales business so we'd rather over-share as its a matter of safety in our business).- Dent behind right rear bumper. It is hard to see in pictures from afar but its there.- Battery is draining from something unknown (I disconnect battery when I don't drive it for a week or so). I believe this ignition was changed out when they did the 383 motor so could be related. Again, I could have it troubleshot and try to "bandaid" it but i'd rather be honest and let someone make it right who knows what they're doing.- You will see in the pictures the front "JEEP" hood ornament & LH side "Grand Wagoneer" emblem are missing. Have no fear, I have both of these and they come with the car and are in great condition/not broken off.- Rear LH window sometimes doesn't stay in the "up" position (falls about 4 inches). This is a common problem. I always drive w/windows down so it has never bothered me. likely needs a new "window zipper".
This Jeep starts VERY easily. Power steering works like its supposed to. Makes theserelaxing to drive! This wagoneer even has the hard to find rear security roll cover!Theoriginal carpet in back cargo area has not been abused! see pictures!
I just had all the fluids changed and all new brakelines done for safety.
Clear title in-hand, ready to be signed over to new owner, please ask any/all questions. Car is located in Burlington, Wisconsin and I will happily cooperate with your shipper if you send them to pick up the jeep.
Please bid with confidence on this hard to find classic that is sure to appreciate in value in the coming years!
