1988 Jeep Comanche Additional Info:
This is a Jeep Cherokee that has been garaged, being restored for the last 13 years. Story goes, 13 years ago, previous owner bought this Jeep and garage kept it while he restored it. He got about 75% don, had a heart attack and that is when I purchased it. I was told when I got it that it was painted 12 years ago. The pick up bed was full of new parts. I spent 3 days putting it together. I installed a new gas tank, alternator, starter, mirrors, 4 new tires, complete interior with excellent condition floor mat and new headliner with visors.Car is super clean and while paint was done years ago it's never been outside. I didn't see it before the paint but it has original rockers and 1 small patch on driver side floor. Frame, body and wheel lips are rust free.It had no rear bumper or spare tire, I put them on.I also installed a high quality battery, changed oil and filter. Installed new valve cover and filled all fluid levels. Two weeks after I got it running speeds cable broke. Cost me $300 for a custom made cable.Six months ago the throw out brng was noisy so I went hog wild, pulled the 4 speed and put a 5 speed in there from a 95 Wrangler with updated metal slave cyl. New clutch master, complete new clutch assembly and had fly wheel resurfaced. Over $1100 in parts. Original 4 speed and parts come with it.The bumper from recycling yard came with trailer hitch and wiring, which I retro fitted to this vehicle. Tows 1500 lbs easily.Along with new parts laying in the bed was a new aluminum radiator and factory fog lights which both I installed. Also came with AM FM CD player and 2 new front speakers. I installed that, car has rare 4 speaker factory stereo, sounds good.Car has original jack, owners manua, and center console. I swapped consoles when I did conversion.Engine supposedly at 105,000 had a head gasket. No papers to prove.Runs, drives and shifts excellently. Goes 80 MPH and gets 30 MPG.Never smoked in, cigarette lighter is new. No odors.Has new cap, roto, wire, plugs and air filter.Everything works including original clock. Now the negatives- smallest tiniest oil dribble sometimes and size of a dime. Two small tiny dents- one in passenger door, one on top of driver windshield from a tree branch. Otherwise no dings, extremely straight.Truck bed looks new.Be reasonable in your expectations and you will love it.Can pass for a 5 year old vehicle. Can drive anywhere, loves to run 70 MPH on highway. Don't be afraid to fly in and drive home.I have a shipper if you want it shipped at your expense.Check my feedback, excellent references on expensive cars, not dolls and tee shirts.Email me any questions.
