1986 Jeep CJ Additional Info:

Jeep CJ7 that has many recent upgrades:
  • New Old Man Emu 2-3" Lift. This is 4 new springs and new bushings. It is the best lift on the market in my opinion and rides very smooth
  • New Bilstein Shocks all the way around
  • New "YJ" Front Spring Conversion (gets rid of skinny CJ springs for wider, more comfortable YJ springs)
  • New Reverse Shackle Kit (allows front axle to absorb bumps way better - google it)
  • New Front Driveshaft
  • All new races and bearings in front hubs
  • New Smittybilt reclining front seats
  • New rotors and front brakes
  • New Weber progressive carb w/ electric choke
  • Nutter Bypass completed
  • New 32" BFG KO2's
  • New power booster and cylinder for the brakes (not installed yet)
  • New DIRTWORX rear bumper and spare tire carrier that will be installed this weekend.
The jeep rides and shifts great. Trans, clutch and transfer are great! The main issue is that it is starting to smoke. I didn't have any issues until I ran a can of seafoam through it with an oil change (not sure if a valve seal is bad or what). It runs great, it is just starting to smoke. I also have a set of steel half doors and a bimini top. All the parts and labor above is easily over $3,500. There is minimal rust on the Jeep - you can see three small silver squares where I sanded down some bad spots and applied a POR-15 product so it wouldn't spread. The floor is rust free.
I wanted to do an LS Conversion, but that's a bit beyond my expertise and didn't want to start something I can't finish. If you want to do the engine work, this Jeep should go another 50,000 miles with no problems. Everything else is done. It IS NOT a Renegade...I just added the stickers.
