This Jeep has been driven 40 miles round trip to work at least once per week, been taken to Bantam Jeep Festival 2018, Toured the hills of Amish Country on Sunday Drives, thrilled my kids with a sense of simpler times, experiencing the “manual” choke starting procedure…I could go on all day about this cool Kaiser-Jeep, but it's probably best if you ask the questions!
Story of this Jeep: I purchased it last year from a soybean farmer in Indiana who told me the best he could recall, this ole mail jeep was from a small Indiana Town - maybe "Peru" whose post office closed, and this "Barn Find" was discovered months after the towns original Jeep was sold at auction. That was when he purchased it with only a few thousand miles on it.
All original nostalgic low production number 1969 Kaiser-Jeep DJ-5A purchase 9/25/2017 with 19888.3 miles on it. Last time it was driven the odometer reflected 22,222.2 original miles.
This jeep is one of a kind, and is a historical vehicle. You will NOT Find another, in this good of shape anywhere. Off or on-line. This is a true “survivor” from the early days of Snail Mail.
Icould go on all day about this cool Kaiser-Jeep, but it's probably best if you ask the questions!

If you are a history buff, or a history teacher, or a historian or just a plain ole’ car enthusiast like me, you will fall in love with this iconic treasure.
All the Success! It would make a great Novelty Vehicle or Gasser Blue Tint the windows, sell shave ice, ice cream etc...

The turning radius is so short, it feels like it has power steering
A bit of History & Some Blah-Blah.I have done some in depth research on this Mail Postal Jeep (or so we recall). It is unusual being a Left-Hand Drive set-up. I was told by a historian that it probably belonged to a Postmaster or Postal Inspector. Some folks in the Willy's world said these were also used by markets for grocery delivery & drug stores for pharmacy deliveries. It is equipped with Lap Belts for safety. It reminded me of the primitive vehicles we drove around the perimeter of Clark Air Base in the Air Force. The interior is reminiscent of the Vietnam War times, The only 3 modern modifications I made were USB Port, Cell Phone and Note Holder, and Rear view Mirror (to see partially out the back window - if the cops were behind me - LOL.) Whatever the case, owning this unique Kaiser Jeep has been an absolute pleasure and It will be sad to see it go.
If nothing else, this sweet ride could be used in a circus, as a promotional & marketing/advertising tool, wedding car for the postal worker, or just a plain ole daily driver as I believe it should be used.
I purchased it on September 25, 2017 with only 19,834 miles from James Dean (movie actor) & Jim Davis' (Garfield Creator), hometown of Fairmount, Indiana -"The town where Cool was born"
Happy Bidding!!!
This Jeep has a standing invitation to be in the Historical Building during the Bantam Jeep Festival in Slippery Rock!
