1987 Jeep Comanche SporTruck Additional Info:

I have owned this jeep since summer 2015 and have loved every bit of it. I believe, I am the third owner on papers, but the Jeep was owned by an older gentleman for most of its life. I bought it from his son who put it up for sale after had passed away. The Jeep spent most of its life in California, until his son drove it to Indiana. The original owner took meticulous care of it and even got it re-sprayed and got the original time correct SporTruck stickers for the body from Jeep.
Since I have owned it I have done many repairs and have listed them below. Me and wife have travelled all over the US with this truck, to California, Colorado, Kentucky, Georgia, DC and many other road trips. I trust this jeep more than other cars that I have owned previously and own currently.I would drive this Jeep anywhere in a heartbeat.
* Comes with two Dana44s off a wagoneer. I was going to do the swap but decided to sell the jeep instead. Note, these are not installed on the Jeep, but come with it. I took it apart and was in the process of cleaning it up and regearing etc.
Happy to email you more pictures if you need any. Please let me know.
Here is all that has been done-

- New Optima Battery
- New Head unit

- New coolant hoses
- New Electric Fan (save some HP)
- Coolant sensor with a controller to set the temp where you want the fan to come on
- Oil cooler kit (No need to change oil for upto 8-10k easily)
- Remote oil filter relocation (makes oil changes a dream)
- New spark plugs
- New spark plug wires
- EZ drain for quick oil drains without taking off any drain plugs
- New motor mounts
- New shocks
- New steering damper
- New headlights
- New oil pan gasket
- New water pump
- New timing chain, tensioner and gear
Things that could use more work-
- Floorboards can be replaced, they have small rust holes ( common for jeeps)- Small paint chips, scratches, as I used it to haul motorcycles and travelled all over the US with it
- Small dings, it is, after all, 30+ years old lady. Easily can be fixed
- I would probably do a seat swap with Cherokee to have comfier seats for long distance
- Fuel line has a tiny leak which needs no immediate attention but could be changed
- Valve cover gasket could be replaced, I have replaced it multiple times with no luck, I would change with Aluminiumvalve cover from a Dakota and silicone and steel gasket- Could use a tire rotation, balancing and an alignment. I feel a vibration in the steering wheel at around 65mph, this is a recent observation.- Tear in the driver seat, from previous owner. I was planning on changing to XJ seats so did not fix the issue.
Engine is the original 2.5L and is attached to the original 4 speed transmission with about $185k and drives like a champ and pull strongly. This is a Mechanically Solid Jeep, come and drive it home no matter if you live in Alaska.
