Up for sale is this hard to find original CJ-5 Jeep. This jeep was bought new locally by a large farmer and was used exclusively around the farm, only occasionally coming in to town for inspection or to get farm supplies in bad weather. I am the 3rd owner. The second owner only had it for a short time, and again only used it for the same type work. The Jeep was never exposed to salty roads, so it was spared the rust that so many jeeps fall victim to. It was undercoated at the dealer when new as well, and maybe that helped. I have owned it for a couple of years now, and during the last year we drove it about 70 miles. Storage is hard to come by, and my job doesn't let me have the time to finish it the way I want to. I started on the body work 2 years ago, didn't finish it, and just slapped some filler on the 3 spots I was working on and shot some can primer on them and put it away. These areas are dents. One on the cowl right in front of the driver, one by the drivers feet, and the back corner on the drivers side. The other spots that do have rust are still visible, and you can cover all of the rust on the jeep with a dollar bill. I pulled the dent out in the cowl and then put filler in, and I have that one coming along pretty well. Both front fenders were bent up beyond my ability, so I just put new ones on. The bed area and tops of the rear fenders were bent up from hauling firewood. All visible from underneath yet. Here is what I have done:
New front fenders New front marker lights New plugs and wires
New tail lights New motor mounts New window cranks
Remanufactured carburetor New EGR Valve Painted valve cover and installed with new gasket
New master cylinder Cab removed and repainted and reinstalled
Floorboards painted with Rustoleum Seats reupholstered
Steel treadplate installed in bent up rear floor area and painted
This jeep has the hard to find T-18 four speed in it from the factory. As you can see, I also have every bit of paper from when it was bought new. The half cab was installed at the dealer, but was already used at that time. The 60 / 40 seats are original as well. Lights, turn signals, brake lights, gauges all work as they should. Tires have excellent tread and are 7.00-15 bias ply on correct era Jeep factory wheels. It runs and drives great-as long as you consider no power steering and no power brakes on bias ply tires in and old Jeep great. I do! The heater and blower also work but I think there may be some acorns in the fan as it rattles a bit and blows stuff out when you turn it on-never got to that and I haven't run it in the winter anyway. My pics show the bad areas so there are no surprises. The jeep is exceptional and of course you will not find another one like it. My signs on the doors are magnetic but seem to be stuck pretty well, so I decided to just leave them on there. You may text me with any question I have not already answered here at 573 six one nine 2362. Selling as-is where-is with no warranty expressed or implied. You can drive it or you can haul it. Insurance is on you once you pay me for it. Jeep and title will neither one leave the property until I am paid in cash, Paypal, or your check has cleared both my bank and yours. Wire transfer preferred. Title is clear and in my name. Minor body work and paint is all she needs. Blacked out name on paperwork was done on computer and original documents are not written on-I just don't want their name out there. All glass is good. Windows roll up hard which is typical. Doors lift off for those warm days. Clutch is excellent. Brakes are excellent. It does have seatbelts.Steering is tight. No lockouts-never had them. Absolutely NO TRADES.
