1973 Jeep Commando Additional Info:
Solid frame and running gear. Just went through the brake system: from new master cylinder to wheel cylinders and brake shoes on all four wheels. These brakes could definitely use a final bleeding and adjustment to bring them to perfection.
Motor tuned up: new distributor cap, rotor, points. Also plugs and wires thrown in for good measure. There is a need to replace the vacuum lines on the motor (all of them, either rotted, or gone).
There is sufficient rust on the body to keep any home-brew body and fender person (or welder!!) happy for hours on end.
There are surely some gremlins in the wiring/electical system. The majority seem to work OK and should only need new bulbs to make operational.
Brand new Bestop seats built for a CJ-5 but fit quite nicely here. Also there is a new center console that has not yet been bolted down between the seats.
A previous owner started to install a lift, got as far as the SOA (spring-over-axle) and the vehicle does not have shock absorbers. You will need to fabricate front axle shock mounts prior to installing shock absorbers (necessary to drive vehicle)
Fantastic vehicle for a rock crawler project, put back together for a classic Jeep or just limp along with a few improvements and use for a daily driver.
Pay the buy it now price and I will include a NEW 12,000 Badlands winch to fill that winch bumper that is on the front of the vehicle! Or make me a satisfactory offer and I will assist your transportation in loading the vehicle as they get it ready to deliver to you!
Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding other electrical or mechanical questions----or to discuss a cash offer.
Paypal deposit will suffice and the transporter/you will need to pay cash upon pickup of the vehicle
