1983 Jeep CJ Additional Info:

The CJ-8 Jeep Scramblers were made from 1981-1986. They were designed to be the pickup version of the popular CJ’s. The longer wheel base made these Jeeps stable at highway speeds and offered more cargo space behind the rear seat.

I believe that this particular 1983 Scrambler was once a mail Jeep in Alaska. It features one of the best engines ever designed: the reliable I6 (inline 6) 4.2L 258ci engine with fuel injection. It also has a dual-shift 2 or 4-wheel drive transmission, with independent control of the front and rear axles. On the inside, the stainless steel dash panel has been customized with original and new additional gauges – all of which are functional. A rear seat and two additional rear jump seats brings the seating capacity of this vehicle to six (6) people. The undercarriage has been undercoated and is solid. Solid floor boards. No rust. New paint. (There is a small crack in the paint behind the drivers door, but it is small enough where I couldn’t get it to show up in the pictures). This Jeep starts and runs beautifully and needs nothing. Everything works as it should. Drive this Jeep anywhere. All mechanical receipts since I’ve owned it are included along with the original owner’s manual. It is the most fun vehicle I have ever driven, but I need something with more cargo capacity and I don’t have the room to store two vehicles.

Included:

  • Two removable full steel doors (driver/passenger)
  • A new Bestop full soft top with removable windows
  • New Bestop two-piece soft doors
  • Necessary hardware for soft top conversion (mirrors, etc.)
  • Rear hitch receiver
  • 1983 CJ-8 owner’s manual and sales brochure
  • "SCRAMBLER" silver decals for hood (if new owner wants to use them)
